Course Description
Learn how to write accurate and efficient SQL like a professional!
In this course, you will learn how to both read and write complex SQL queries in a relational database (MySQL). The skills you will learn are also largely applicable to any other major database system, such as PostgreSQL, Oracle Database, SQL Server, and much more.
Knowing how to write SQL is one of the fastest ways to reach your career goals. This is because SQL is consistently one of the most in-demand skill in the tech and business sectors. People who can work with data and manipulate it efficiently will be in high demand for many years to come. SQL allows you to be independent at work. It gives you the freedom to immediately get the answers to the questions you want to ask.
SQL can seem simple at first, but it can quickly become complicated. It is common for people to a write SQL query without realizing they are getting an incorrect result returned. This course is designed with a focus on accuracy and understanding.
You will learn how to avoid the common mistakes people make when writing SQL. Not only that.. but you will get a visual guide to the SQL language by seeing how queries work step-by-step. This is a complete course which covers all the core skills you need to master the SQL language.
I believe that the best way to learn SQL is by writing lots of SQL. For that reason, this course includes over 80 coding challenges where you get to write SQL queries and create database objects such as tables and stored procedures. These challenges are based on real-world scenarios and are designed for optimal understanding.
In this course you will learn everything you need to master SQL! Including:
· Get started with MySQL Database and MySQL workbench, two of the world's most popular SQL tools
· Learn how to do data analysis and data analytics using SQL. Including advanced query techniques
· Start by learning the fundamentals of the relational model and the SQL language
· Analyzing data using aggregate functions with the GROUP BY command
· Writing advanced queries with string and date functions
· Learn to use logical operators to add logic flow to your SQL queries
· Learn how to write both self-contained and correlated sub queries.
· Learn how to do calculations across partitioned rows using window functions.
· Learn how to join data by using the different types of JOIN commands
· Learn how to do more advanced joins such as joining more than two tables and joining on multiple columns
· Learn to create tables and integrity constraints
· How to update, insert and delete data
· Learn about transactions in MySQL
· Learn to write advanced SQL such as stored procedures, window functions, and common table expressions
· Understand and Apply Database Design - Learn how to structure your data correctly in a relational database. This section includes data normalization up to and including Boyce-Codd Normal Form

Course materials are good. But the issue I have faced was during solutions for each challenge, you just read the query answer for each challenge. Instead, you failed to explain what each query does with pictured table and for candidates new to SQL it would be difficult to grasp the answer query. Thanks!

The material is well covered and the instructor seems to know what he is talking about. The presentation of the material is clear, so everything is easy to understand. The way of speaking was too slow for me and thus made me sleepy, so I had to listen with 1.25 or even 1.5 speed to keep myself engaged. And sometimes the instructor took too much time to explain simple things, while one look at the presentation was enough to understand the problem. Apart from that it was all right. I am fairly satisfied.

All good, so far. Everything is explained clearly and the instructor has practical exercises (challenges). He also provides resources for most of the video lessons. Resources also include solutions to those challenges but, at least the opportunity is there for you to work out the challenges yourself. He provides hints as well, before giving the solution resource. I like the way this course is structured.

Great course and very easy to understand. Just one suggestion for the creator of this course, if you can also put a pdf with every lecture so that one can download the pdf and revise everything discussed in the lecture after watching the video or at a later time would be really helpful. Rightnow, I am just writing down everything discussed in the videos on a notepad, which is also a good learning point as one can learn by writing themselves. Overall course is great for beginners. SELECT * FROM Learn SQL WHERE magic happens :)

Liked that this course came with lots of hands-on challenges for us to work on the SQL queries. It definitely helps you to learn more when you are writing it yourself to understand what you actually understand from the lectures and what you don't. Some of the lectures can get alittle dry when there is too much words on the slides and too much talking, but that isn't of a big issue to me. Nonetheless, thanks so much Daniel for this course! Really helped me learn so much about SQL and i'll be sure to re-visit this to refresh my knowledge from time to time (and re-do the useful challenges)!

The tutorials are very well explained and the challenges are perfect to learn by practicing. However I do think sometimes it is a little monotonous and confusing but nonetheless very informative and the confusion is cleared when we do the challenges and go along with the solution videos. Would recommend the course.

I really researched which SQL course I wanted to take. So when I picked this one I was naturally going to be very critical. I can assure you that this is as clear an explanation of SQL that a person can give. The examples are clear concise and VER WELL explained. There are ample amounts of challenges which really help you to get an understanding of each section. I would highly recommend this course over any other SQL courses.

Normal forms were still quite confusing, tho I get the gist. Wished to have done some more practices/challenges on it. Otherwise, this course greatly helped me and it gave me the hands-on experience that other courses lack. Which was more than worth the admission price. Thank you.

Daniel Trait is an amazing tutor, my place of employment had given me the resources to do this course and I have learned so much, I've been following along and writing up a text document as to help me remember everything but It was explained so well that I don't see myself forgetting anything that I've been taught
