Good introduction to Kotlin and Compose, but for the length of the course I would have expected a bit more breadth (more APIs, more Components, Deployment to the App store etc). The pace is sometimes a bit too slow. I like the fact that he also shows mistakes and how to fix them. Sometimes the explanations could be a bit more accurate, technically correct. The code structure, variable naming etc are okay but not 'Pro' Level IMHO (I am a software developer with 10+ years of professional experience, but new to Kotlin and Compose)

I really liked this course, it covered so much. Ecspecially liked the last project with Room, where it went into database joins, you just don't see this stuff shown elsewhere. Well done to the instructor, for putting in the extra effort and really covering topics in depth.

Syed is a great instructor. I love his detailed explanations. I have taken several Kotlin / Jetpack Compose courses, but Syed is the only one who took the time to really explain what's going on. He didn't just comment on the lines of code he wrote, but he also explained why he wrote what he wrote - including important underlying concepts. This course also has the advantage of being one of the newest ones. Things change rapidly in (mobile) software development, and it's important to stay up to date. So if you're looking for a Kotlin / Jetpack Compose course at the turn of 2024/2025, this is the one!

I WILL NEVER TAKE HIS COURSE AGAIN AS HE IS A VERY IRRESPONSIBLE TEACHER WHO DOES NOT KNOW HIS MATERIALS WELL. The only reason why you should take this course is that the teacher uses Ladybug, THE MOST UPDATED ANDROID STUDIO. 1) Lack of acceptable command of proper English pronunciation (Some lectures do not have sub-titles). 2) You need to use your own image files. 3) For some lectures, not adequate lesson preparation. He presents difficult concepts without giving examples for them. He made the students confused. - but at the same time, he makde something more complicate than it is really is. Just talks too much. 4) The only reason why you still can consider taling this lesson is that the code is still updated. He is using Android Studio, ladybug. 5) Not enough projects to work on. 6) code is not presented in the dark code. It makes it hard to read. 7) I hate that he makes several projects into one project. Is it necessary? I just feel it confusing. 8) Does not care about his students at all as he seldom replies to your questions 9) The teacher uses technical terms without really explaining the concepts. Note: I am a retired computer teacher in Macau.

As a former student of Syed Tanvir Ahmad back in 2019, where I first learned Android development with Java, I was thrilled to take his latest course on Jetpack Compose. His teaching style is engaging and clear. He breaks down complex concepts into digestible sections, making it easy for both beginners and those with some experience to follow along. The course is well-organized, with hands-on projects that reinforce learning and build confidence. Overall, this course is a fantastic investment for anyone looking to master Android development.

This course is packed with everything you need to become proficient in Jetpack Compose and Kotlin, whether you're a beginner or have some experience in Android development. The course starts by building a solid foundation in Kotlin, which was super helpful for me as I was relatively new to the language. From loops and functions to object-oriented programming, the instructor breaks down Kotlin's fundamentals clearly and makes sure you can apply them right away. The way Kotlin’s advanced concepts like data and sealed classes are covered really helped me leverage the language’s full potential. The Jetpack Compose section is fantastic! You’ll learn how to set up projects, understand Composable functions, and design beautiful UIs with ease. The hands-on projects, like building a profile page with responsive layouts, are not only fun but give you practical experience you can directly apply to real-world apps. The course does a great job of teaching key UI components like Column, Row, and LazyColumn while emphasizing best practices like Separation of Concern and Single Source of Truth (SSOT). One of the highlights for me was learning about state management and lifecycle in Compose. I now feel confident in using ViewModels and Kotlin Coroutines to manage concurrency, and the coverage of Retrofit and Hilt for networking and dependency injection was spot on. By the end of the course, I am able to build a fully functional Android app, including navigation, database operations with Room, and handling device location! I particularly appreciated the focus on modern app architecture using MVVM, which will be invaluable in my future projects. This course is perfect for anyone looking to get into Android development or to enhance their skills with Jetpack Compose. The instructor is knowledgeable, the lessons are clear, and the hands-on approach makes it easy to follow along and apply what you learn. # Highly recommended!
