Excellent course! Extremely clear and easy to follow. I learn a lot and get a great idea about Kafka monitoring. It's not for a completely novice Kafka admins. Before you start with this course it's good to have some experiences in linux & kafka setup. However, really need to make some updates on subjects, like LinkedIn tools, Kafka manager (now CMAK), ZooNavigator, etc. And for non-native-English spoken people, Marek is talking a little bit too fast in this course, but on the other hand, he is talking very clearly, which is great.

Overall I have the same remark as for the rest of the Kafka series: the courses are a bit outdated. There is still a lot of valuable content in them so you'll definitely still learn some things from them but keep in mind for example that LinkedIn has abandoned kafka-tools over 4 years ago (in favor of Cruise Control which is a bit more complicated to setup but immediately also offers a replacement for kafka-manager with the Cruise Control UI for example). I would still recommend the course (and the series) for anybody wanting a deep(er) dive into Kafka but for a 5-star rating the content needs an update.

Excellent and very practical course! I learned a lot and am more confident in Kafka as a result of this course. Some of the tools covered have been updated (even renamed) since this course, but the material is still very useful and you can follow the course to adapt to the updated tools. Apply yourself and do the work to learn and this course will be very useful to you for running a Kafka cluster.

Some tools do not suit the latest version of python or OS (kafka-utils for example). Spend a long time to solve the installation problem (kafka-utils still got issues on Github). It would be nice to update the course with the latest version or maybe list the version of all tools. Overall, everything in the course is clear and easy to understand, LIKED!

Finished Apache Kafka Series from the lecturer. The explanations are well balanced with theories and hands-on demos / exercises. Recommended if you have basic knowledge about unix / linux system and want to know a lot more about distributed system and stream data store like Kafka.
