Apache Spark 3 & Big Data Essentials in Scala (Udemy.com)

This course was amazing and provided an incredible learning experience. Even I didn't have much experience (none at all :)) with the Scala language, I was able to understand what spark is about and how to work with it. Absolutely recommend to everyone who is just a beginner like me or at any level of knowledge. Thank you very much :)

I truly appreciated Daniel's (the instructor) helpful attitude and efforts, all the time I had questions regarding the course material he was always there to help me, and this was the same when I participated in his Scala Essentials and Advanced Scala clinics. Thanks a lot. :).

In spite of some little inconsistencies in the videos regarding the instructions (some things changed out of the blue from one video to the next one), and also a few differences with the actual running environment, which is utterly understandable, of course, I will not base my rating on those things, but instead in the excellent material and the way the instructor explain the topics without repeating himself as other instructors do in other courses. As we say in Spanish (Mexico): This course is "oro molido"!

The course could have been much more better if internals of sparks are giving an introduction. Update : There are extension courses from Daniel (at rockthejvm.com) which I already subscribed and completed a few on them. When I see the whole spark bundle, the way Daniel separated the courses makes much sense and I strongly recommend everyone to go through his entire bundle.

I started this course with the goal of learning about Spark in general. I got more than what I expected, i.e. comprehensive lectures on different data types, joins, aggregations, conceptual understanding on Data Frames, Data Sets, etc. The biggest kudos goes towards how the resources for the course were made available for students. The Docker containers handling the Postgres, Spark-SQL shell, etc. is brilliant. I also enjoyed the data made available for working on the lectures. The exercises helped reinforcing the concepts taught by the instructor. Another big plus for the course is how promptly Daniel responds to the questions posed by the students. I already purchased a couple of other courses offered by Daniel. The knowledge I gained from those courses made it a breeze while learning this course. I would easily buy other content from Daniel when I have such a need. BTW, Daniel is very strong in Scala. This fact makes a world of difference when learning Spark, because Spark is built natively on Scala.

Thank you, It helped me to become more productive to work with spark. It covers the basic required understanding to start with spark and all the apis explained here will make anyone become good with spark. And also should cover the understanding on architecture and additional tutorial to work with cassandra, mongodb, elasticsearch, kafka etc.. technologies integartion.

I went through the scala basics by rtjvm and loved it. This one lacks the depth the way scala one had in explaining the concepts. Especially I was missed performance related info in the course. As an example, how to do partitioning is shown but why partitioning in practical world is not explained.

Great course, very comprehensive, partially challenging and well explained with a lot of cool material and real world applications (access to remote databases via docker container). I have done other Spark courses in Python and Scala. This one tops the others by far. Learned a lot; Super!!

If you have taken any other classes of Daniels, you will feel right at home with this one. Daniel takes you thru the paces of building spark solutions, and he give you an excellent place to start. Getting started is usually the hardest part of learning a new stack, and this class is perfect for that. I had already started to learn Spark on my own, but I wish I has started with this class instead. There are a lot of details to concern yourself with when using this framework. This class is an excellent way to get started! Daniel also emphasizes that Spark is NOT part of Hadoop. Lots of begginers think you must have one to use the other. This is not the case, and this class shows you why.

El único curso de spark scala que realmente enseña a trabajar con Spark en Scala, con dataframes, datasets,... Muchos otros apenas aportan, la mayoría mucha teoría vaga y poco ejercicio útil. Un gran profesor del que ya tengo todos lo cursos con temática que me interesa.
