Audacity: Audio Editing with Powerful Free Audacity Software (Udemy.com)

This was a really great course. Very easy to follow, for the most part. It was so helpful having Peter and Katie walk you through the steps. Very informative and I learned a lot. I also liked how they'd pause and have us do it ourselves. My only complaint is when Peter outed Katie for making a mistake, that honestly wouldn't have been very noticeable, had he not busted her out. Lastly, there was just too much of a promotion for Adobe Audition. Although, he stated that it wasn't a promotion. I think he made a comment about Adobe Audition at least once in each chapter. So it felt very promotional. Overall this was really a great course and I would highly recommend it to all trying to learn the in's and out's of Audacity. Thank you Peter and Katie

Explicacion por audio y visual de manera impecable aprovechando al maximo la calidad de estudio, es interesante el poder ver esto a detalle, si bien algunas cosas ya las sabia el uso correcto y los estandares que exige la industria, tecnicas y otros elementos mantienen rico el curso en cuanto a recursos, consejos y modificaciones.

peter must use kate voice while editing so that one can distinguse. Initially they started with hand holding but later they just keep informing which make more sided communication. last lecture was nothing but to promote derby. More in depth and practical approach could be included. Overall i would rate not more than 3 out of 5.

I used to work in radio. I am now completing a temporary sound booth (will soundproof a walk in closet later), doing diction drills/recording myself to sharpen my sound & am looking forward to getting work from Upwork.com to get started. I am very glad I'm taking this course, I thought I knew enough about Audacity already but it became quickly apparent that not only was I lacking the professional knowledge I needed but Peter Baker's general insights are extremely helpful to me. I look forward to completing the course and becoming the great sounding top notch voice over talent I am confident of becoming. My thanks to Peter & Katy too!

very simlistically explained. Great for a new user. Sometimes assumptions are unintentionally made as to where to find tabs and keyboard functions. Slowing it down as in the beginning would be helpful.

A lot of the information given is very basic, but it gave me a better insight into using and setting up keyboard shortcuts, setting up the interface etc. I wish there was a bit more in depth about using some of the effects like compression etc. and setting up for ACX files. But, with a little bit of tinkering I was able to figure it out by myself. Many thanks for the lessons given.

(Greetings from Italy!) I am extremely happy that I purchased this course! I am a teacher and I needed something intuitive but professional to be able to use a podcast software in my teaching. This course exceeded my expectations. It is clear, concise, and can be followed step by step even without any experience in audio editing. Absolutely recommended for newbies like me! At the end of the 8th chapter I was already able to create a professional mix for a podcast project on the Second World War. Furthermore, I would like to point out that the interface shown in the tutorials is absolutely up to date with that of the software and this helps a lot. After being out of the workforce (former tv news reporter/anchor who did voice overs on the side) to raise a family, the freelance world of marketing and producing one's own work is entirely new to me! I found this course online and it has given me some great and easy to follow information on setting up my audacity workspace. Thank you!

The lessons were very simple and well-presented. I understood everything in the course. The only problem was that not everything commonly encountered when editing the narrations was covered. I realize this can't be a 12-week college course, but some editing situations often encountered were completely left out. I got a lot of useful information from the class, don't get me wrong, but when I went to implement it, I found out what was missing and no amount of reviewing the lectures turned the information up for me. This will not prevent me from watching other classes by this team, but it will make me think twice before I buy.

The presenters are excellent: warm, professional, great voices and they care that the course is easy to follow. There was a great challenge of making a coffee ad and it worked well. I would have liked one more advanced challenge to have a go at, but they did provide examples of more advanced techniques. I feel quite confident about doing the basics now: recording, adding music, fading, exporting and learned other extras. I would now love a follow-on course as there seem to be quite a lot of buttons and functions that weren't discussed so I am curious as to what is possible
