Course Description
Welcome to your complete audio engineering masterclass!
This course uses Ableton to teach, but these techniques directly apply to any other Digital Audio Workstation (DAW), like Pro Tools, Cubase, FL Studio, Logic Pro, Studio One, and more.
Have you ever wondered how people mix hits for the radio and clubs? Have you noticed how the pop charts sound so good on all stereos—whether you're listening on a stack of festival speakers, cheap earbuds, in the car, or in a store?
Well, audio engineering is not just a technical skill, it's an art form.
If you've ever produced a song and felt that it didn't sound good enough, this course is for you.
If you want to become a professional audio engineer or mix engineer, this course is for you.
If you want to mix other people's records for a living, this course is for you.
If you're tired of making boring, lifeless, amateur mixes, this course is for you.
Here's a recent review from a real student:
"This course is outstanding. I spent thousands in my 20's in my local recording studio learning from instructors. I'm learning so much more here."
How do we take a "demo" and turn it into a "finished product"? How do you make your own productions competitive in terms of loudness/clarity/awesomeness vs. big-budget productions?
It took me decades to accumulate the knowledge in this course. I've made this comprehensive audio engineering course to save you years of heartache and struggle.
I didn't hold anything back.
I wanted to provide you with as much value as possible in this course. And it took me well over a year to put it together. It's really a labor of love, because I've been so deeply passionate about audio for the last 20 years of my life.
I've toured the world as a DJ, and I've made mixes on international radio and for some of the world's biggest and most respected labels.
And as a Udemy instructor, I've had over 25,000 enrollments and counting, with thousands of 5-star reviews.
All my secrets are contained inside.
Not only that, but you have a 30-day money-back guarantee directly from Udemy if you're not 100% satisfied, so what have you got to lose?
For a small investment, you can save yourself 10 years of struggle or more. I built this course because there was nothing like it when I was young. This is the course that I WISH I HAD when I was a kid. It's nearly 11 hours of original video—everything you need to get to the next level.
Most top engineers won't share their real secrets. But I don't believe in that. Here's the truth, I look forward to seeing you on the inside!

I help people level-up their creative expression through technology.
...30,000 enrollments and counting on Udemy.
Ross Palmer has always had a passion for cutting-edge technology, knowledge, and creative expression.
At the young age of 11, Ross started programming Z80 assembly language on his calculator while listening to electronic music religiously, watching the Simpsons, and speed-solving Rubik's Cubes (personal best avg. of 15.75 seconds!) That should tell you all you need to know about this highly unusual individual.
His work is at the intersection of creativity, business, and technology - all without taking ourselves too seriously.
Some highlights:
• Helped build one of the largest dance music blog start-ups in the world, growing a single SoundCloud account into six, growing from 3,000 to over 1,000,000 followers, and becoming a multi-million-dollar start-up in the process.
• Was in an improvisational comedy group for 6 years, performing for hundreds of people monthly during the week, while DJing parties every weekend.
• Worked at Armada Music in the Netherlands, world-famous record label of Armin van Buuren.
• Was a professional DJ for 13 years, touring around the world. Now taught other professional DJs who are releasing on: Armada Music, Spinnin' Records, Ultra, Revealed, and more.

Really enjoyed the course. There is a lot to learn and the course is laid out really well. I can now produce better music by making more conscious choices and not wander too much around. It's always a pity when you feel you can write something good but can't really improve your sound quality. With this course you'll be able to look for the right clues and tweak the right things to produce a higher quality track. This course is certainly worth a whole lot more than its price.

It's a good course, but can be better if you do it more specific

I was expecting more after this course. The teacher explains a lot of steps of mixing, but the lessons are taken out of the any logic of mixing process. What I was missing was explanation WHY. Instead of randomly playing with Ableton plugins, I would expect expert like you to tell us WHY you are doing this or that. WHAT you hear, WHAT you want to do and WHY - this is what I expected. Last part (full mixing) was kind of promising but still, you ran so fast through it so education value of it was poor. I have a feeling that author protects so much of his mixing secrets, that purposely skips what is the core of education. I don't recommend. There are free YT channels that offer much more holistic approach. I am sorry Ross, I am dissapointed.

Hi Ross, Thank you so much for making courses of such a high quality. I am really enjoying the mixing course and I also loved your DJing course. There are many teachers out there but you have a fantastic ability to explain concepts in a clear and concise manner. I also really appreciate the care you have for your learners. Please keep up the good work; you da man! Thanks so much Ross! Frank

I learnt so many good things about mixing in this course I'll need to revisit it several times. I applied the course to one of my own tracks and it sounds exponentially better than anything I'd tried before. Additionally, Ross imparts his knowledge in a simple, intelligible way that is easy to follow. His approach of teaching principles and encouraging the students to grow those principles for themselves is invaluable. I highly recommend this course.

Probably one of the best Udemy courses I have purchased and I have purchased a lot of them. I consider myself pretty much a beginner at the craft of mixing and I learned so much from this course. Thank you Ross for putting this amazing course together and sharing your knowledge/passion with others. I particularly liked the structure and pacing of the course as well as the philosophical angle with regard to mixing and listening to sound, etc. as that really helps in organizing your thinking in order to make good mixing decisions. The two songs (Leave This Town and Hurricane) that were used in the course were also very good songs and easy to listen to. Once again Ross, thank you.

I've been making music for over 20 years now and it's always just been a hobby. I never took it seriously and hated the way my music sounded. After countless hours of watching youtube videos I still wasn't satisfied with my mix. I've made money with my music but it didn't matter because I hated the way it sounded. Most real artists are perfectionists so when you release something that you don't like it's not a good feeling. After watching these videos my mixes are coming out so much cleaner and competing with the producers I admire. The section on Multing/Signal splitting got my kicks to hit hard. Bro.....THANK YOU FOR MAKING THESE VIDEOS!!! I've always wanted to DJ too so I know who's course I'll be watching next. lol. Thanks again!!

I have enrolled literally dozens of courses here at Udemy and in audio category, this is clearly the best! Probably a complete beginner wouldn't be happy due to the complexity and detailed structure of the course; but if you already know a thing or two regarding audio mixing / mastering, you will be more than happy. I have already understood what I was doing wrong in several steps of the process. Part 2: Before You Mix and Part 3: Making the Mix are great sections. Overall, a very good product. Thank you Ross for your outstanding work!

In the last section as we speak. I have to say that this is the best course/tutorial I had since I started music production three years ago. I realised that I was thinking too difficult and adding too much. Also your theory explanations were super interesting. You managed to keep my interest the whole time even in the parts I already where familiar with. Keep up the good work! Love (L)
