Our take
Based on the ratings of 5,730 students, a sample of their written reviews and the syllabus, as the course stood in March 2026. No course pays to be reviewed.
This is a long, hands-on tour of running Kubernetes on AWS EKS. It starts by creating a cluster with eksctl, spends a short stretch on Docker and core kubectl, then moves through EBS and RDS storage, load balancers, ALB ingress, Fargate, ECR, CodePipeline, X-Ray tracing and autoscaling. The syllabus shows 203 lectures and about 24 hours across 32 sections. Kalyan Reddy Daida teaches it, and the demos follow manifests he publishes on GitHub. The last update was in March 2026, which matters for tooling that changes this fast.
Most of the 5,730 reviews are positive, with 3,441 five-star ratings and 1,730 four-star ones. Reviewers like the clear step-by-step demos, the ingress section in particular, and the GitHub documentation. One CKA-certified reviewer says it works for people who already know Kubernetes and want the AWS side. The complaints are consistent. Some find the early lessons dense, like slides read aloud, and a few say the intro assumes knowledge despite the beginner label. Others say it is mostly AWS rather than Docker and Kubernetes depth, and one wants newer projects.
It is a good fit if you have an AWS account and want to see the EKS pieces wired together, from DNS and certificates to canary releases. Nearly 75,000 students have enrolled. Newcomers should expect to pause and rewatch, or learn some Kubernetes basics first. One reviewer also points out that the course never closes with a list of what to delete, so keep track of the resources each section creates and clean up as you go.
Pros
- Step-by-step demos on a real AWS account, with manifests published on GitHub
- Ingress is covered in depth: path routing, SSL, HTTPS redirect, External DNS and host headers
- Goes past basics into Fargate, CodePipeline, X-Ray canary releases and three kinds of autoscaling
- Refreshed in March 2026 and includes a section on EKS Pod Identity
Cons
- Early lessons are dense, and some reviewers say they feel like slides read aloud
- Mostly AWS-focused, so Docker and Kubernetes depth is thinner than some students expect
- No quizzes or coding exercises, and one reviewer says a single app is reused across demos
Coming from Azure and GCP background, this was a perfect introduction to the world of kubernetes in AWS.
Listed for all levels, but reviewers say true beginners get overwhelmed early. Some AWS and networking familiarity helps.

In the introduction, he given too much information. For new people, who are not having experience on EKS, will have to take so much effort to learn EKS.

I’m a CKA certified Kubernetes administrator, and I took this course to strengthen my understanding of EKS and how Kubernetes works in AWS. The instructor did an excellent job of explaining everything clearly, especially the ingress section, which was covered in great detail with step-by-step demos. The course is very well structured, beginner-friendly but also valuable for those with Kubernetes background who want to see AWS-specific implementation. I particularly liked how the trainer explained concepts before jumping into hands-on. Overall this is one of the best EKS courses I’ve found. Highly recommended for anyone working with Kubernetes in AWS!

Great course! Each section has a detailed theoretical introduction with nice charts and practical step by step real life examples, 10/10. Things that could be added/improved: - AWS resources pricing could be explained in some sections (X-Ray, CloudWatch) - ingress files are old in some sections, therefore they could be updated to match the new API (fortunately, sections from the beginning of the course explain how it should look for the new API version, so it can be used as a reference)

Good EKS Course, covers majority of important Kubernetes topics with good explanation. Only recommendation is to update the manifests files for the later part of the course (From Section 23 onwards) since they are still using the old ingress specifications which causes errors.

This course is absolutely a master's class. However, it will be a super perfect course if the instructor adds extra sections. For examples: Managing project with helm chart, Logging with EFK to trace log of the container, Monitoring with Kube Prometheus Stack, AlertManager to send Notification into Email or Slack when any action of the Cluster facing problems (Node Scale-Out/In, Pod Pending/Error...) and something like that. I think these are very important because, in production, we need to do that. Again with me, I think I like the way teaching the instructor, good job, and keep working on that bro. Many Thanks!

This course is very detailed, Kalyan holds our hand and walks us through complex topics with such ease that it is unbelievable. The course's documentation in GitHub is a gem, you could finish the course and use it as a reference point whenever you're stuck in a production deployment. The way Kalyan explain things shows he not only wants us to learn but assimilate, as he keeps on refreshing our memory by relating different sections that help students connect the dots. Thank you for sharing this knowledge, I'll definitely be enrolling in other courses by Kalyan.
By Kal ⠀ on 3/23/2022
Multiple demos to illustrate practical examples of how to use EKS alongside other services in the AWS ecosystem (e.g. S3, RDS, etc.). Each demo is accompanied by an in-depth, clear explanation. The source code for the course is also heavily documented and easy to follow. Only thing I wish was also included in the course is a section on implementing service meshes in EKS, but the instructor has said that he plans to add one in the future. 10/10 would definitely recommend this course. Thanks for going above and beyond in putting together this course, Kalyan!

This guy is beyond the average human being in terms of course quality content. From all the courses I bought on Udemy this one (AWS EKS kubernetes Masterclass) left me with open mouth and I'm simply speechless in front of this high quality course. Everything is well documented and very well organized. I need to watch it at list 3 times to master the concept before practicing but I think it's worth 5 stars from my end. I totally recommend you to buy this course. Thanks Kylian Readdy Dada
By Aris Darmawan on 7/16/2021
This course is very good because it gives big picture on how should we use EKS to hosting our applications without going too deep which will exhaust learner in the first phase. You will have good basic knowledge of EKS components and after completed this course you can go deeply if you want. Some feedback for Kalyan : - Upgrade some manifest which use beta version to the official version - Provide blue-green deployment case - Add canary and blue-green deployment case into CI/CD section (codepipeline + codebuild) - Add HPA manifest file to HPA section (currently just use imperative) - Update outdated command in load test section (cannot run in new EKS version) - If possible, add terraform case in to EKS too

Outstanding combination of tools and technologies as part of this lecture. Was really overwhelmed with the amount of content available in this course. In a shorter note, Kubernetes deployments on AWS made it easy for me after this course. The amount of AWS Services covered in relation to AWS EKS is huge. As usual, Kalyan has one more time rocked and provided a wonderful course Eagerly waiting for your Azure AKS course
