LifestyleHashiCorp Certified: Terraform Associate 2026 (Udemy.com)
All in One course for learning Terraform and gaining the official Terraform Associate Certification (004).
Created by: Zeal Vora
Last updated January 2026
Our take
Based on the ratings of 32,153 students, a sample of their written reviews and the syllabus, as the course stood in January 2026. No course pays to be reviewed.
Zeal Vora's Terraform course is a 25.5 hour walk through the Terraform Associate (004) syllabus, built around AWS labs. It starts with infrastructure as code basics, then spends its biggest block, about ten hours, on reading, generating and modifying configurations. Modules, workspaces, remote state, a security primer and Terraform Cloud follow. It is pitched at newcomers to Terraform, but the requirements list basic AWS knowledge and an AWS account.
Reviewers keep praising the teaching. They say concepts are explained simply, the practicals are easy to follow, and a few report passing the exam afterward. The repetition splits opinion: one reviewer found it a handy refresher, while a 3-star review says the course could be half as long without it. The other complaint is thin practice exam material. Another reviewer notes the labs take far longer than the video time once you pause to try things.
Ratings are strong: 4.7 from 32,153 reviews, with 19,447 five-star and only 386 one or two stars. The course targets the 004 exam and was last updated in January 2026. With 159,220 students it is a bestseller. It is a good buy if you want one course that teaches Terraform properly and covers the exam topics, but plan on adding outside mock exams and expect a slow middle stretch.
Pros
- Zeal's explanations are called simple and clear, with examples that make the key concepts stick
- Practical, lab-first approach on AWS, with easy practicals that reviewers say reinforce each topic
- Covers the full exam syllabus, and reviewers report passing the Associate exam after taking it
- Updated in January 2026 and includes 770+ slides to download
Cons
- Runs 25.5 hours, and one reviewer says it could be half that without repeated points
- Only two practice tests, and reviewers want more exam practice material
- Needs basic AWS knowledge and an account, and labs take longer than the video time
Good detailed terraform teaching approach. The examples are really driving in the key concepts. Easy to understand.
Beginner to Terraform, but basic AWS knowledge and an AWS account are required, so not a first cloud course.

This course is worth every penny. As both a beginner and a professional, I found it incredibly valuable. It expanded my knowledge and provided clear, detailed explanations of concepts I use daily. I would highly recommend it to anyone starting their Terraform journey or preparing for the Terraform Associate certification.

"There is no such thing as bad students but only bad teachers". Zeal is an excellent teacher. This course takes into account absolute beginners in Terraform. It was totally worth buying it !

Really good course covering everything needed to pass the exam - I did a couple of videos per day each morning and learned things I didn't already know as well as reiterating things I did. The practice tests were pretty similar to the actual exam questions.

The “Terraform: Beginner to Advanced” course is a comprehensive and well-structured training that covers everything from the fundamentals to more advanced concepts. The progression is smooth, making it accessible for beginners while still providing valuable insights for more experienced users. The practical examples and hands-on exercises are especially helpful to understand how to use Terraform in real-world scenarios. The instructor explains core concepts clearly, including infrastructure as code, modules, and state management. I also appreciated the focus on best practices and reusable configurations, which are essential for professional use.

Exceptional course, it goes deep into all aspects of Terraform that I can think of, explaining everything both theoretically and practically with a lot of detail. Additionally, the practice exams and questionaires are really good and useful to prepare the real exam. 10/10 amazing course, I highly recommend it. This is one of the best courses that I have done in Udemy.

Great insights, perfect mix of theory and practical hands on which makes you understand the concepts as best as possible. Udemy course is long, but having strong foundations is way more important so this is perfect if you really want to understand and not random memorize to pass a cert

Great content, good practice exams and material. My biggest issue with this course is the length. The course is 25 hours but it could be cut down in half if the instructor wouldn't repeat some things from previous videos and wouldn't also extend on some topics that are not as complicated as others. One a good note, you will pass the exam with this course because it has all the content needed for the certification.

This course is incredible for mastering Terraform. It’s packed with insights and is definitely the best resource to help you pass the exam while getting comfortable with real-world usage.
