Course Description

ker &Kubernetes are amongst the most in-demand technologies and topics you can learn these days.
Why?
Because they significantly simplify the development and deployment process of both simple and complex software projects. Especially in web development (though not limited to that), Docker can really take you to the next level!
With Docker, you create and manage so-called "Containers" - basically packages of code and tools required to run that code. These containers allow you to run your programs in a predictable, environment-independent way - no matter where you need to run it.
For modern DevOps but also for local development - on your own or in a team - this is a winner feature since you will no longer have any "but it worked on my machine"discussions. It works inside of a container, hence it works everywhere!
This course will teach you both Docker &Kubernetes from the ground up with all the required theory and tons of examples and demos!
We'll explore all key concepts in detail and with practical examples and demos - from images and containers, over volumes and networking all the way up to deployment and Kubernetes Cluster:
This course has it all!
In detail, this course includes the following topics:
A thorough introduction to Docker, containers and why you might want to use DockerDetailed setup instructions for macOS and WindowsA deep-dive into the core concepts you need to know:
Containers &imagesLearn how to create custom images, use existing images and how to run containers based on such imagesGet a detailed overview of the core commands you need when working with DockerLearn how to work with data and how to persist data with volumesExplore container networking - with the outside world and between multiple containersLearn how to work with both single and multi-container projectsIn-depth deployment instructions:
Manual deployment and deployment with managed services like AWSECSUnderstand Kubernetes core concepts &architectureLearn how to create Kubernetes resources, deployments, services and how to run your containers with KubernetesDive deeply into working with data in Kubernetes projects - with different types of volumesKubernetes networking and DNS service discoveryLearn how to deploy your Kubernetes project (at the example of AWSEKS)And much more!
All these topics are taught in great detail with slides and theory but also, most importantly, with many examples and demo!
You'll find tons of demo projects throughout the course - using programming languages like NodeJS, Python or PHP(with Laravel). You don't need to know these languages to follow along though, no worries!
Who this course is for:
Everyone who has NOT worked with Docker or Kubernetes at allEveryone who is struggling with understanding what exactly Docker is (and why you might want to use it)(Web) developers who want to explore modern DevOps and Docker

A very nice and comprehensive course about Docker, despite the complexity of the matter. The teacher knows what's being taught, and most of the time I was able to follow along without much effort in debugging and working around issues.
Some minor issues still need to be addressed so that all students (including those with less programming experience or even with a complex WSL2 setup) can go through everything in a smooth pace.

If there is a course from Maximilian Schwarzmller that interests you, don't hesitate to buy it. He is one of the best instructor, his courses are clear, easy to follow and very instructive. His style and presentation are absolutely motivating, even if the topics are heavy.
This course is about docker. What else to add? Usual Maximilian Schwarzmller quality, or briefly speaking great quality. If you are interested in docker or want to learn docker, you have found probably the best course, so you can stop searching, just go for it!

Max is unbelievably smart teacher.
He has approaches that make learning curve such a smooth and nice experience.
He has this unique approach to firstly make you see the problem and then to bake the solution,
which is the best way to understand the tools and technology we'd like to learn.
Thank you, Max!

I'm already familiar, say a 5 out of 10, with Docker. I'm running this on fast speed, slowing down on new knowledge areas to bring me up to 8/10. I'll definitely be suggesting this to coworkers. Thanks, Maximilian.

I am new to Docker. The instructor took the time to explain the important details in depth that I was able to follow. I recommend it to people who are new to Docker and Kubernetes or people who need a refresher

Max starts with the basics and does a great job "growing" your knowledge with each new module. I've used docker for a year and in this course Max has cleared up some dockerfile bits that I always left alone so that I can now confidently and correctly modify.

Great course, please add more content relating to grafana, traific, ingress, etc.

I have been waiting for this course since a very long time, and so far the explanation has really been great meeting my expectations.

By Michael Bunyan on 11/7/2020

Appears to be too long, but progressive build and configuration shows most commonly used and useful Docker options, shows common mistakes and decision points. All leading to deploying on AWS and the options. Uses both simple app deployment and multi-tier app.

This is THE BEST course on DOCKER anywhere. I've taken many courses on Docker over the years as it matures and my understanding has grown. But, this course by Maximilian is the best I have seen. He covers every aspect of Docker in this course to include the concept that I have used on my own that he calls Utility Containers. Well done Max! (And, I haven't even gotten to the Kubernetes section of the course yet.)

By Subodh on 10/14/2020

So far the explanation is very thorough and not rushed. Very nice examples as well.
