Prepare for the Certified Kubernetes Administrators Certification with live practice tests right in your browser - CKA

Our take

Based on the ratings of 93,948 students, a sample of their written reviews and the syllabus, as the course stood in September 2026. No course pays to be reviewed.

This is a certification-prep course, not a general Kubernetes intro, though the dossier lists it for all levels. Mumshad Mannambeth of KodeKloud built it around the actual CKA curriculum: scheduling, security, storage, networking, troubleshooting, plus updated Helm and Kustomize sections. With 311 lectures across 18 sections and labs you run right in the browser, reviewers say it maps closely to what the real exam asks, down to mock exams meant to be repeated more than once before test day.

Reviewers praise the labs above almost everything else: no local cluster to set up, instant feedback, and mock exams that reviewers say resemble the real exam's difficulty. One student wrote about passing with 75% after working through all three mock exams twice. The complaints cluster around a handful of things: a few labs reference material not yet covered in the lectures, some lab solutions are missing or mismatched, and one reviewer flagged a specific lecture as feeling AI-generated and unhelpful. A couple of reviewers also said the listed course length undersells how long the labs actually take.

At this price and with over 93,000 reviews averaging 4.7 stars, it holds up as one of the more thorough CKA options on Udemy, and the course was refreshed as recently as September 2026, so the Helm and Kustomize material is current even if a handful of older lab notes lag behind. The scale of updates KodeKloud keeps pushing is rare for a certification course this specific. Anyone serious about passing the CKA, not just learning Kubernetes casually, gets real value here.

Best forAnyone prepping for the actual CKA exam who wants hands-on labs, not just slides.
Skip it ifYou want a pure theory overview or already run production Kubernetes clusters daily.

Pros

  • In-browser labs mean no local cluster setup before you start practicing
  • Mock exams reviewers say closely match the real CKA's difficulty and style
  • Covers the full CKA curriculum: scheduling, security, storage, networking, troubleshooting
  • Recently added Helm and Kustomize sections keep it current with the exam

Cons

  • Some labs reference topics or commands not yet taught in the preceding lectures
  • A few lab exercises are missing solutions or have mismatched answer keys
  • Listed course length reportedly understates real time needed to finish the labs
Amazing course, the only thing I needed to prepare for the exam, passed with 75% (66% is passing)
Nazarii Yukhnovskyi, a student

Listed for all levels, but really suits people who already know basic Docker, YAML, and Linux.

This course is comprehensive. I've take a few other ones that were about half the length and did not cover many of these topics. I feel like this one will leave me prepared for the CKA test.

By Силевич Максим on 8/9/2026

Great course, especially for beginers. Cool explanation, a lot of diagrams and pictures. There ara practise tasks in their playground. Thanks for prerequisite lessons, they're very useful.

By Nazarii Yukhnovskyi on 8/7/2026

Amazing course, the only thing I needed to prepare for the exam, passed with 75% (66% is passing). Some thing are a little old though, but k8s is moving at the fast pace, so understandable. For those, who is willing to prepare for the CKA, definitely go through all the material and for Mock Exams I would recommend them to do the way they are sequenced 1st then 2nd then 3rd. Go over each of them at least two times, since for me I could not solve everything for the first time. The CKA was a little bit harder than the Mock Exams 2 and 3. After that you would also have access to killer.sh sessions as soon as you buy the certification exam, there are two sessions, go through them at least two times as well, they are much harder than the actual exam. and last thing the time management is the key: if you sit at something more then 5-7 minutes leave it and go further.

Outstanding CKA Preparation with Real-World Focus This is one of the most practical and well-structured Kubernetes courses I've taken. Mumshad explains complex Kubernetes concepts in a simple, easy-to-follow way, making it suitable for both beginners and professionals preparing for the CKA exam. The hands-on labs are the biggest strength of this course. Instead of just watching videos, you're constantly applying what you've learned in a real Kubernetes environment. The practice tests closely resemble the style and difficulty of the actual CKA exam, which helped me identify my weak areas and improve my speed and confidence. I also appreciated how the course focuses on understanding why Kubernetes works the way it does, not just memorizing commands. Topics like scheduling, networking, storage, troubleshooting, security, and cluster administration are explained with clear examples that are useful beyond the certification exam. If you're serious about passing the CKA and building practical Kubernetes skills that you can use in real-world environments, this course is an excellent investment. I highly recommend completing all the labs and practice exams, they make a significant difference in exam readiness.

By Daniel Gimpelman on 7/22/2026

Overall the course is pretty and constantly updated. but there is an issues with some of the labs and their solutions, some labs do not have a solution at all, some lab solutions are solving a different test so keep that in mind. I would also wish that just like there is an intro into TLS certificates there was a linux intro for people less comfortable with linux. And sometimes the lab is different that what was learned. But mostly good and would definitely prepare you well for the cka exam.

By Kevin Morris on 7/14/2026

Great preparation...still think CKAD his foundational and needed before CKA. Nothing wrong with the course standalone or take them both but just remember CKA starts to fix things and is an administrative angle... this course is starting to age a little bit some of the videos and topics overlap. I think it should be improved. Get a little more relevant videos with supporting documentation - need to be more task based, more hands on.

By Luka akhaladze on 6/25/2026

One of the best learning experiences I've ever had. The course structure is excellent, and the explanations are clear and easy to follow. Some parts were even funny, which made the concepts stick in my head better. The best part, however, was the hands-on labs. They helped me grow the most and gave me practical experience that reinforced everything I learned. I really appreciate KodeKloud for providing such a high-quality learning experience and free labs. I highly recommend this course to anyone who wants to learn Kubernetes, regardless of their skill level. Great job, keep it up!

By Neda Khodabakhshi on 6/15/2026

This is one of the best Kubernetes courses I’ve taken. The explanations are clear, well-structured, and easy to follow, and the hands-on exercises make everything much easier to understand. I’m very happy with this course, and it has inspired me to work toward earning my CKA certification. If you’re serious about learning Kubernetes and passing the CKA exam, I highly recommend this course.

By moe nab on 5/20/2026

So the course and labs seem good. I am yet to book my CKA exam but I feel I have learnt a lot. I will say though I am not a fan of the mock lab solution videos. The instructor writes out the yaml solution raw rather than using docs. This is not realistic for exam. He should be showing us where we can find what we need in docs and then how we can adjust it for the question . No one will be writing the yaml from memory in exam like he does in the solution videos.

By Alex Ivasyuv on 4/20/2026

Great course! Of course you have to practice even more aside these labs, but I really like the way course is layout, very comfortable explanation and slides. But in order to get excel - you have to practice beyond that for sure, course give you good understand what is that, how it works - and your task to dig deeper. Really recommend that course!

By Jrgen Reinmuth on 11/21/2020

Super erklrt, gute Beispiele - viele bungsmglichkeiten, aber leider ab der Hlfte etwas Schwchen bei Musterlsungen und bungsumgebungen bei Cluster Upgrade laufen bisschen von Umgebung auseinander

By Harshad Wathulkar on 11/14/2020

I really want to say thank you to Mumshaad for designing this great course. This course is really good for people who is starting from zero. A well structured course with a very interactive practice labs. "THANK YOU Mumshaad"
