Course Description
Looking to learn the basics of Fusion 360 in under 2 hours? Always struggled with 3D CAD and want an easy-to-follow course to work through in your own time? This course is for you.
With quick easy-to-follow videos, you will be 3D modelling in no time. The total video content is 1 hr 30 minutes and is broken down into small tutorials. Within 2 hours you will be able to create 3D models and be able to model many of the 3D shapes listed below.
This course is delivered by Phil Cotton, Autodesk teacher instructor, and learnbylayers founder which provides CAD and 3D printing curriculum resources for schools around the world. Phil teaches you how to sketch basic shapes to convert into 3D and how to edit sketches and shapes to build your key knowledge. By the end of the course, you will have learnt the key skills of 3D modelling to then create more challenging designs to 3D print.
All the tutorials are easy to follow and under 5 minutes long, allowing you to create models quickly and with ease. The tutorials are split into easy to follow skill-based videos, allowing you to learn in small episodes. By the end of the course you will be confidently modelling a range of different items ready for 3D printing including;
Basic shapes with filleted edges
Nuts and bolts
Fidget spinners
Spinning tops
Lampshades
Embossing rings for jewellery
Modelling an iphone case from scratch
Further skills included in the course are;

I have been a high school technology teacher in the UK for over 10 years and have taught thousands of students how to 3D print. I am also an Autodesk Instructor for the UK National STEM Centre and have trained hundreds of teachers and schools on 3D printing in the classroom.
I am also the founder of learnbylayers an online platform that provides curriculum resources for teachers. This is currently used by schools in over 33 countries to 500,000 students.
Creating curriculum content is what I do alongside my teaching role. The courses I have created here are adaptations of the classroom curriculums on learnbylayers. The content has been adapted for a home learning/self-tuition environment and is tried and tested in classrooms around the world.
The main focus of all my courses is 3D printing and how to create models for 3D printing. Either via learning code or CAD design. I am really excited that you are interested in one of my courses and I will keep you in safe hands taking you through the lessons step by step.
I always appreciate feedback so please feel free to message me here or reach out through one of the social media channels.

Wow. Wow. Wow. I recently bought my first 3D printer (Bambu Lab A1) and I wanted to dive into the 3D design world, since the designs on MakerWorld didn’t quite fit what I needed. This course is absolutely perfect for beginners! I have 0 experience with Bambu Studio, Fusion 360 or 3D printing in general. The instructor is clear, teaches you the use of the available tools; and provides short easy-to-follow tutorials to help you perfect each one. He doesn’t just show you elaborate items to design (like a previous course that I bought), he actually teaches you the purpose of each tool so that you can apply your learning. As Chinese philosopher Lao Tzu once said, “Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day. Teach him how to fish and you feed him for a lifetime”. This course is a prime example of being taught how to fish. Thank you so much Philip!

Slight difference in fusion maybe because it might be an older model. Perfect otherwise

This video is nice and slow but not too slow, we all know how annoying that can be ;) Definitely worth spending few dollars on this video then bouncing around trying to get quick free tutorials on YouTube.

The content was good but the sound editing was very inconsistent. There were loud bursts of static at the end of many videos and the levels from video to video were unpredictable.

Perfect Course for anyone moving from any other CAD application to Fusion 360 and wants a fast boot camp

compared to other fusion courses i have found this one to be the easiest, fastest and cheapest going, it's been very helpful and right to the point.

Excellent intro to Fusion 360. Definitely not a full course on all the tools that F360 offers, but for a solid intro, which was what I was looking for, definitely a good choice.

Great at introducing various tools available. Not great depth into their potential uses, or anything more complex than just introducing a concept.

Well finally a course where you can refer to the basics without the drawn out teachings and to the point and better when needed for future projects. Plus the instructor is easy to understand and extremely knowlegable. This course can be referred to when needed. Thank you Tony.

Хороший курс для введения в работу в Fusion 360. Преподаватель очень четко говорит по английски, так что во многом понятно и без субтитров. Приводимые примеры наглядно показывают функции Fusion 360.
