If I could have gotten my money back, I would have. Spent $10 on the course and it was a waste. If you read other comments, which I failed to do, you will see that many people, myself included, were not able to get the example to run out of the box. Probably because Java and Eclipse continue to evolve and this course has not. I was able to figure it out but I spent a lot of time googling an answer when that was why I had bought a course. Much of the course is spent repeating the same command but on a mac. If you know CTRL == CMD and ALT == OPTION then you could save half the time in this course just by saying one platform and not both. Having the example was not that impactful because half of the course is spent giving you the command which you can see from the drop down. Clearly not what I had hoped this course would be.

So far I am very happy with that course. Very concise, clear and straight to the point. Why I needed that course ? I've started to learn Java (required by the company I'm working for and of course for my own sake) We are using Eclipse IDE but I took another course about Java and the tutor is using IntelliJ. I will use both of them. I just needed to see at least once how Eclipse works and be able to come back to the course in case of some doubt and don't bother too much my colleagues. But I will get anyway extra course from my mentor to master that :) So this course is really perfect if you want to have a first approach of what eclipse can do ! So, Merci Beaucoup Infinite Skills ! From France with love :)

Course is very good. All topics were organized well so that one should become familiar with eclipse. Need few topics- git / bitbucket tutorials. ant/maven/gradle tutorials. For sure course is good enough to make one confident to work in eclipse. Well Done!

Very professionally made course. It shows how to use the program on a basic level. Deeper understanding of complicated features is not covered. If you are new to IDEs (esp. Eclipse) and have at least some knowledge of Java, this is perfect for you. If you want to program in C++ (as I do) and you are new to IDEs (esp. Eclipse) I would recommend this course with restrictions. (Since there is no course for Eclipse and C++ available in June 2018). Some content can be transferred to C++, other content can't because it applies for Java only. Lots of additional menu options for C++ are not covered and I would have wished for more expert knowledge. But since this is a beginners course for eclipse used with Java, I can't blame the course. It just does what is says.

It is what it says it is. It says it not for teaching programing or Java, but for showing how to work Eclipse, and that it does. Sometimes I wished it would go over or review programming/Java at least some, but that's expected given the description. IDEA: Might have been helpful if the sample code was explicitly designed just for this course.

If somehow the course could be more organic, doing something, rather than just walking through the different functionality. Then the course would be more engaging. It's boring the way it is now. Mind you... Storytelling is very important! Also in teaching! It glues the student. The problem with this course it that there is no progressive storytelling. Therefore we get very bored. It happens regularly that the constructor demonstrates a feature and then ends it buy saying 'I am not going to do that' (for example Section 7, Lecture 61), this is ridiculous, and is an anti-pattern to meaningful storytelling. A good course needs to be build upon a meaningful story, this course does not do that, it just lists the features in an un-engaging way.

Awesome introduction to the eclipse software. Fast paced step through of every menu function with just the right amount of detail. Some of the menu options are obvious and I could have figured them out myself, but a lot of them were only clear when the instructor showed them with code examples. I got a lot from this course and am much more confident in using eclipse after this. I learnt a lot of very neat short cuts and functionality. Strongly recommend this. I actually searched for this course but could not find it, so udemy should do more to promote it! Only minor point was some of the mac key short cuts did not seem to always match the instructors commentary, but are extremely easy to figure out by following the instructors commentary for the same command through the menu options and looking at the shortcut on your own mac.

This course gives on ok overview of eclipse, but is obviously aimed at beginners. Luckily, I was a beginner and for me, it was a huge timesaver! The format is simple, each menu from is covered top to bottom starting from the left (the file menu). There are many things missing from the course. I would have liked a better explanation of how to, copy and manage eclipse settings from/to different projects and/or workbenches, or synchronize these in a team. How to use popular external tools, such as git, ant or maven, or tomcat from eclipse. More coverage of popular plugins, etc... Nevertheless, I am quite happy with this course. Recommended!

This is a survey course that explains how to use Eclipse, including lots of short-cuts and tools. The environment is complex, so every menu and most sub-menu items are discussed, but a few variations are left out. The instructor is clear and pleasant, so he's easy to follow. Well done!
