Course Description
This course is approximately 4 hours in length and will cover IPv6 protocol in detail. I will compare the differences between the IPv4 to IPv6, and the benefits that IPv6 brings to the future of networking.
DISCLAIMER: Please note that the simulators/emulators used in this course are not part of the course. It is the students responsibility to have these to practice with. The Cisco Packet Tracer and/or VIRAL (Virtual Internet Routing Lab) are Cisco proprietary software and can only be obtained through Cisco. It is up to each student to obtain the simulator/emulator of their choice to study along with this course.
Students will get a thorough understanding of IPv6 and how we would implement it in a real world environment.
We will discuss the format of an IPv6 address, and breakdown the different components, like the Network Prefix, Interface ID, what each 16 bit section does and specifically the subnetting section of IPv6. We will learn about the new types of addresses that comes with IPv6, its configurations using RIPng, EIGRP for IPv6, OSPFv3 using both static assigned addresses and the EUI-64 format. We will also learn about the transition methods such as ISATAP, 6to4, and NAT-PT.
This is a lecture based course using the Touch-IT Technology Smart board, which will make learning very interactive and engaging. Hands on labs will be used to drill down the concepts learned in each lecture using Cisco’s Packet Tracer.
My method will make you feel like you are sitting in a classroom environment and give the most needed hands on experience!
Handouts will be available to facilitate learning and practice.
This course will help the student become familiar with the use of IPv6, recognizing IPv6 addresses and how to implement them in your environment…but it will also help in preparing for any networking certification or Computer Science Degree; not to mention the fact that for those already in the field, it will further improve routing decisions in their particular networks.

Outstanding among excellent courses. This course is free, because the video quality and sound settings were way off. Ok, but it rates FIVE stars because of the content, this was the best IPv4 Subnetting review ever. Laz, why didn't you put this IPv4 review in your TCP/IP course!? If you don't know IPv6 Subnetting, this course will show you. YES IPv6 Subnetting in EASY steps!

Always pleased with this instructor. I've seen a few Youtube video's on subnetting from him and he breaks it down so well. This course is compact and powerful since IPv6 was a thorn in my side so to speak.

It was a very good basic IPv6 course, good to lay the foundation for further learning. Also very good for people who just want to get a basic understanding of what is IPv6.
By Michael Bothur on 1/7/2018
Laz' explainations are great as always, but the technical quality of the videos is making it hard to follow. Audio: bad quality, sounds like a Skype conversation in 2004; partly only right audio channel Video: even 720p video is so badly compressed, it's difficult to see what he's typing). Tried it on different devices. Right me if I'm wrong.

Laz did a very good job. The main reason I purchased this course was to see how to subnet IPv6. Using the method Laz presents here I can see eventually being able to subnet IPv6 in my head just like ipv4 but it will take some time and practice.

Great...This is the second class that I took with Laz. As usual, his delivery of the subject material was concise and to the point. He has done an outstanding job in demystfying the subject matter of IPv6. Thank you !

This is an easy to digest course. The instructor has a really good energy and will point you in the right directions when it comes to getting your certifications. I recommend getting all the courses for CCNA that Laz has they round up really good the preparation for your certification. P.S. Udemy has really good discounts from time to time so no excuses :)

Was able to understand the material on the first go around. I've been working on the CompTIA side of the house and the IPv4&6 classes from other teachers/courses left alot to be desired. Lazaro made the minion lightbulb come on on the first try. I'm going to continue with his courses to get my CCNA certs next.
By Bob Seay on 8/11/2014
I have purchased every course by Laz and in all the instructors I have ever had, he is the best. I learned more from Laz in one course than I did my whole 2 years of my Associates Degree. Thank you Laz and keep the courses coming.
By Jerry Ebanks on 2/12/2014
This course is so good. Why? It's explain in the simplest way it could be explain and the practice labs makes the learning more understanding. I really recommend this course. IPv6 is not hard after all.
