This course teaches basic programming to writers so that you can begin to document code.

The course uses JavaScript, but talks about other programming languages as well, including providinga survey of common programming languages. It covers common Computer Science concepts, such as variables, functions, conditionals, loops, etc.

You'll have hands-on exercises in both writing JavaScript code and documenting constants, functions, and enumerations. You'll end with a final project where you build a therapist bot. (It's not as hard as it sounds, although it's really not a very good therapist.)

The explanation is bit fast. I wish the course had easier assignments. it was easy in the beginning. But, it gets hard as the course progresses.

I have taken several courses from Peter Gruenbaum that teach technical writers a little bit about coding and a lot about how to create quality API documentation. All of his courses are great. I recommend you take his whole series.
I like that the exercises let you play with code and then document it. (Don't worry, he links to the correct answers if you get stuck.)
I love that he always has a detailed intro section, followed by the main information, and finishes with a detailed review section. This is very helpful to hear things again so it sinks into your brain.

I would say it is just too short and goes too fast. The explanations could have been better as well, as I got very confused at their explanation of 'mod', which turned out to be pretty simple, and various other things as well.

great intro for writer, also refresh -- but the JS+HTML was too fast paced, maybe slow it down to give people a change to "digest" - I would also note a mention to the syntax in the hello world example ('hello world')
