This is the Python course most people mean when they say they learned Python on Udemy. About 2.2 million students have enrolled, and the 4.6 rating comes from more than 566,000 reviews. It runs 22 hours across 170 lectures, with 27 quizzes and 19 coding exercises, and every lesson comes with a Jupyter notebook to run alongside the video. It starts with installation and strings, works through functions, OOP, errors, decorators and generators, then spends its back half on practical modules: web scraping, PDFs, spreadsheets, images and email. The real audience is beginners and people switching from another language.

Students like how Jose Portilla explains the basics without assuming anything, and one reviewer singles out the way he answers the questions a beginner would ask before they ask them. The complaints are consistent too. Some learners find he talks fast and zooms the screen in too far, and one says each section opens with extra context before the lesson has earned it. Functions were a little hard to learn, but I got through it. My specific training does not call for several modules to be reviewed, but I plan to complete the course once I have completed my tasks for work.

The course is good and comprehensive, but when it comes to section: 15.web scraping and 17 working with PDF ; most of the methods used are deprecated not in sync with new version of the libraries. I was getting error frequently and it took me a while to figure out. it will be nice if you can update the content.

Not only covers a lot of topics for a beginners course, but the way it does is really good. Concepts are explained really well and this is key to having a good beginners course. It has a lot of examples, some tasks (these tasks are not always something you can use in a real-life scenario, but you can practice and solutions are also presented). Again, for a beginners course, very good

As someone who had a bit of Python experience before taking this course, it was awesome as a refresher and for learning new content. Explanations are concise but clear, and there are several resources shared for independent reading. The course is amazing, especially with all the opportunities to apply your learning. However, I'd appreciate more assessments/quizzes to apply/recall specific concepts directly and really cement them.

Quite a good course, bought it a long time ago. I would say almost 85-90% of the Python concepts that are needed in the actual IT industry are covered here. Few topics can be skipped like Images, emails and others, but all in all a good course to take

The course content is good, but the teaching style needs improvement. At the start of every section, the instructor provides too much extra information before the lesson begins, which is confusing because the student does not have the necessary context yet. Additionally, the instructor speaks too quickly and with a sharp, high-pitched tone that is uncomfortable to listen to. It would be much better to speak more slowly, in a calmer tone, and move the extra explanations to the end of the lesson so the basics can be learned first.
