Course Description
It is becoming ever more important that companies make data-driven decisions.
With big data and data science on the rise, we have more data than we know what to do with.
One of the basic languages of data analytics is SQL, which is used for many popular databases including MySQL, Postgres, SQLite, Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, and even big data solutions like Hive and Cassandra.
I’m going to let you in on a little secret. Most high-level marketers and product managers at big tech companies know how to manipulate data to gain important insights. No longer do you have to wait around the entire day for some software engineer to answer your questions - now you can find the answers directly, by yourself, using SQL!
In this course, The Complete SQL Bootcamp for Data Science, Analytics, and Marketing, we'll start from the basics - installing SQL onto your Mac, Linux, or Windows machine and explaining what a relational database is. Next, we'll look at basic tasks like creating tables and loading data into those tables. We will look at a wide variety of SQL commands and I will show you how to speed things up using indexes.
Once you know all the SQL commands we will start doing advanced examples - answering questions marketers and business people often have, like where are customers dropping off in our sales funnel? And which of our locations has the highest revenue?
In the last section, we'll do Advanced SQL queries on Spark, the big data framework that is the successor to MapReduce and also runs on top of Hadoop. I will teach you how to install Spark, create a cluster very quickly on Amazon EC2, and run SQL queries, allowing you to apply everything you learned up until this point in a big data environment.
Do you want to know how to optimize your sales funnel using SQL, look at the seasonal trends in your industry, and run a SQL query on Hadoop? Then join me now in my new class on SQL! Dominate data analytics, data science, and big data!
TIPS (for getting through the course):
Watch it at 2x to learn twice as fast!
Take handwritten notes. This will drastically increase your ability to retain the information.
Ask lots of questions on the discussion board. The more the better!
Write code yourself, don't just sit there and look at my code.

A good refresher course. However, it only suits for beginners. I wish it included advanced topics like CTEs, self joins, pivoting, etc. Also, Spark is covered very superficially. It should be either removed or properly explained with context, session, RDDs VS Data Frames, Transformations, etc.

Course is good for the beginners. I enrolled this course to improve my skills working in SQL. I can say that understand better now INNER JOIN and similar complicated queries. Still, I expected more examples, detailed explanations, meeting more db's or tables. Section with Spark is poor and incomplete. I enjoyed the most in the last section 'interview question-style exercises'.

This course delivers on its promise of being a short and sweet introductory course to SQL. I didn't have any issues with the installation or getting everything going to follow along with the course. 1 hour is enough to learn all the basics of SQL, and this course provides the maximum value in the minimum time.

As a novice, this was a very good course on SQL. I learned a lot and also practiced it on my system while following the lectures. Though I had some doubts, I had a look at the Q&A section and found out that others had the same problems. I also made a syntax error on section 7 which I discovered and changed. I almost got all the interview questions right but I made some errors in each case. I will review the course materials and get them cleared. All in all, a very good course on SQL newbies must take. -I.

Nice and sweet little chunks. I liked it. Some topic I think needs a bit more elaborating, but we could all fill in the gap with a little Googling. I particularly liked the sample data sets that the course provides. They were helpful to practice on,

I learnt so much from this course, and the material sticks in my head, because the instructor would not explain things in detail, so I would have to do my research and homework. I feel like I gained a deeper understanding of the material because of the instructor's style of teaching.

I truly enjoyed the course 'Data Analytics: SQL for newbs, beginners and marketers' and rated the course a 5 star. The course was well taught, well paced and concepts were explained properly. The course is practical and hands-on which is important to me as a learner as I love to try thing out. My recommendations will be to add a section on Views and a section on a CAPSTONE project. Overall, I truly had a great SQLite3 learning experience and will start developing SQLite3 databases.

I found this course to be very well presented but if I must find something to improve then I'd recommend to review the structure/order of the slides. Not sure if it's me only, but I found it to be slightly confusing to have some slides positioned further away from the actual topic ie long version on how to succeed is the slide 29 (at the end?) and importing data on windows is slide 12 whereas the others OS were presented in earlier slides? Then again this could have been just me, overall this was an excellent course!

Came into this course knowing nothing about databases, how to create them, how to query them. Came out of this course with some basic knowledge of how to create one and query it. I enjoyed it and learned the very raw basics, but it's up to me to learn the rest. Luckily I have a few large data files from work that I can work with. For someone who doesn't have access to large amounts of raw data, I can see that it could be hard continuing your education after you've finished this course.

The lessons are good, but section 8 is too advanced compared to the rest of the course: for example, rather than "Spark", I would have preferred that they were made more examples with the "Mondial Database"; another alternative would be to add a section related to big data and insert in topics like Spark and Hadoop, but after an introduction to these technologies. Edit: I cancel my previous review because the author has rightly pointed out that you can get discounts in various ways.
