Course Description

As an IT professional working at a hospital, it’s easy to get overwhelmed with unfamiliar medical terminology and patient confidentiality requirements. CompTIA’s Healthcare IT Technician course dives into the hospital-based IT systems and focuses on the medical jargon you’ll be working with. CompTIA Healthcare IT Technician puts you in a high-growth job market. Employment of health IT professionals is expected to increase by 20 percent through 2018, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics. The U.S. government estimates that we will need more than 50,000 health IT workers to help medical providers with electronic medical records. Help desk technicians in healthcare environments earn $40,000 per year on average. The average annual salary for an implementation support specialist, an IT professional able to implement, deploy and support healthcare IT systems, is $71,000.

I appreciate the quality and structure of the training program. The content is clear and informative. I suggest adding more hands-on labs and real-world healthcare IT scenarios, especially related to EHR systems, HIPAA compliance, cybersecurity, and cloud technologies. This would further strengthen practical skills and better prepare learners for real job environments.

This Healthcare IT course exceeded my expectations! The content was comprehensive, covering everything from healthcare regulations to interoperability. This course is perfect for anyone looking to build a career in healthcare technology.

The module provided a lot of good information. Only thing is in talking about medical personnel, medical assistants are certified. I am a certified medical assistant with an Associates degree. I recertify every 5 years. There also registered medical assistants. Granted it is up to the medical facility if they hire someone who is not certified or registered.

This course was phenomenal!! It should be a required course for all hospital administrators, in my opinion. I only wish there was a warning listed here that COMPTIA has cancelled this particular certification. The course info is great but it was disappointing to learn that there isn't an exam to become certified. After reading the course description, I thought this course simply didn't require an exam; I didn't know that was because COMPTIA doesn't.

This class had too many videos. The content was helpful, but it assumed the viewer had basically no knowledge of the IT field going in despite the statement that this certification is for those who have IT experience and are looking to move into the healthcare field.

The course is comprehensive. It provides understanding on healthcare, governance and IT which will enable IT personnel to support healthcare system more effectively.

Some really good surface level information. Not sure how well it preps for the exam. I would recommend this course to help clinical staff get a better understanding of the IT side of things.

It was good for the most part. If you have your A+, N+, and S+ than this is really just covering the insides of healthcare. If you have the CompTIA triad of certs, just take a HIPPA compliance class (1 hour), and attend career day at a hospital and you have covered everything here. Keep in mind, HIT-001 was retired by CompTIA in 2012. Good resume builder for anybody trying to get into an entry-level job in HIT. But get your A+

By Carlos M. Marte Parra on 8/12/2019

Ha sido una buena elección en relación a poder conocer de los términos utilizados en HIT, pero hasta ahora la impresión es que no tacará a fondo la capa de gestión de requerimientos de infraestructura en entornos regulados.
