Course Description
LPIC-1 is a junior level certification for Linux administrators. You should be able to perform maintenance tasks with the command line, install & configure a workstation and be able to configure a basic network. The Linux footprint continues to grow. In addition to its significant presence in the server room, all the major public cloud providers offer Linux images as a way of speeding up virtual instance creation.
Large organizations such as the U.S. Navy, Dell, HP, BAE Systems, Northrop Grumman and the U.S. Department of Defense employ CompTIA Linux+ Powered by LPI certified IT professionals.
IT professionals who earn their CompTIA Linux+ certification can receive the LPIC-1 from LPI. Earning a Linux+ certification is the beginning of a path that will lead you to advanced, distribution-specific Linux certifications such as SUSE Certified Engineer.

The instructor is engaging, not mono toned. Even from a virtual perspective, this is an instructor I could learn from.

So far so good! I like this approach and had no idea I could get 3 certs in 2 tests. Looking forward to the rest of the course!

I appreciated the instructor's clear delivery and well-explained demos. Unfortunately, in 2021, this material is quite dated. Most distributions have moved on to systemd (vice old initrd/runlevels) and many of the UI screens are out of date; in some cases some displayed options are deprecated in their upstream package sources.

It's a decent course but... could be better. The examples could really benefit from a voice over, are occasionally the wrong demo... in one case an entire video was a duplicate (Chapter 56 and 57 are literally the same video talking for 13 minutes each about Font servers!)... In general - good course badly in need of some editing.

The fact that the gentleman is setting the expectation early on is a good indicator of how difficult this course is going to be. This I admire because not only has he set the expectation he has not made it sound insurmountable.

The instructor is very good and makes the material very exciting. It does not feel like I am about to prepare for an exam and watch some videos, but rather like I have started an exhilarating journey.

I liked the class. The instructor was great. However, I was a little put out by the fact that this course is for a certification that doesn't exist anymore (LX01 and LX02). As a beginner, I didn't know this when I signed up for the course. Now I have to sign up for the actual CompTIA Linux + current course (LX03 and LX04)

I like how the instructor teaches what you need to know and also delves lightly into some of the deeper stuff that is meant for the more advanced certifications.

I had purchased another Linux course from another instructor. Hoping it was going to give me an intro to Linux. The instructor failed in that part. All the instructor did was here's how to install Linux. Then went right into telling me what everything was. No activity workbook to help you out. No create these folders, these files and now this is what you should see or how to edit the file in Vi etc... In this course you're going elbows, forget that you're going in shoulder deep into this and actually going to learn Linux from the ground up. This is what I was looking for. Don't spend money on intro's to Linux, spend it on this and actually learn Linux.
