Course Description

Deploy your software just like the big tech companies. Spinnaker is a multi-cloud Continuous Delivery platform that enables you to release your software often, with high confidence.

Spinnaker is open sourced by Netflix and is now used by small and big tech companies to release their software on the cloud. Google is also a major contributor to Spinnaker.

If you are looking how to deploy your software to AWS, or Kubernetes, then this course is for you. In this course we explain step-by-step how to:

  • Setup Spinnaker locally, or using any virtual machine in the cloud

  • Deploy your software on AWS using deployments pipelines in Spinnaker

  • Integrate Spinnaker with Jenkins

  • Deploy software using Spinnaker on Kubernetes (using the kubernetes v2 provider)

You can deploy Spinnaker on DigitalOcean as shown in the course. You can also deploy spinnaker on any other Cloud Provider or with a local VM (a vagrantfile is also provided to help you with this). The current requirements of spinnaker are 18 GB RAM, A 4 core CPU, Ubuntu 14.04, 16.04 or 18.04 (Ubuntu 20.04 is not yet supported at the time of writing). The course has demos showing you the installation process of Spinnaker on a Ubuntu droplet (DigitalOcean), but any other ubuntu-compatible VM can be used to do the installation.

I don't know if a review is necessary - this is the best education for Spinnaker available on Udemy but also one of the very vew offerings. Thanks for doing it.

We are not able to view the tabs url's links while moving between different windows may be little more user friendly and also you can add what are the challenges we may encounter during installation and execution, since it is expert course there is expectation that we can learn more detail... otherwise it is good.

Once again. Edward never disappoints. If you are looking for a cut and dry course on Spinnaker, you've come to the right place. Edward doesn't waste time and cuts straight to the chase providing you with enough technical overview of the high level details of Spinnaker while simultaneously walking you well thought out hands on exercises to further elucidate the functionality. Job well done Edward.

Man schaltet komplett ab. Eine Tour ala "dann klicke ich hier, dann trage ich dort das ein" ist nicht lehrreich und inspiriert auch nicht.

a good, fast overview if you understand all the tools and use prepackaged options. I was hoping for more detailed install/setup examples especially configuring Halyard in different ways.

Great course! I understand better now, how this could enhance my existing CI/CD flows. However, it still feels just like an introduction and I am hungry for more! I'd like to see more advanced demos. I mean examples of multi-pod, multi-instance deployments, management of secrets, user management in Spinnaker. Extending/mixing Spinnaker with other tools... like Terraform. Does it make sense? Recommendations? Spinnaker clustering - making it HA, safe environments separation and protection of the production environment deployments.

This last part with jenkins baking amis was good at first. But then the course material sped up and skippet parts, which led me to completely loose the context, and not doing the actual work. This is really bad, since the rest of the course explains the rest in such great detail...

One of the best courses I have been through. It covers multiple real life scenarios that one might run up against in the real world. Following exactly along with the videos worked almost flawlessly with a few minor exceptions. One suggestion to supplement the conceptual lectures would be to include some network/component diagrams and maybe even some sequence diagrams to show the different components and how they interact.

All good content, please consider adding a section that is more on AWS behind the scenes configuration solutions for troubleshooting talk about /gate connection refused, credentials, how to get the user name authentication shown in spinnaker and how it was setup, also a quick reference guide for the known config errors and how to solve
