"What an amazing course! After finishing this course, I have confidence. Thank so much Dr Peter Alkema" ... "This is exactly the jump-start I needed. Very clear and concise"

I lead Digital Transformation & Architecture at ABB and I've been featured on CNBC Africa and won the Gartner CIO Of The Year in 2016. I founded and led the largest banking hackathon in South Africa which was published in 2019 as a case study by Harvard Business School.

I've taught over 100,000 students about technology, business, academics and self-development. In 2020 I completed my PhD at Wits University In Johannesburg. The study introduced a ground-breaking theory of Agile software development teams. My woodworking book was published in 2014 and has sold over 10,000 copies.

Olugbenga Gbadegesin: "Excellent delivery" / Lebogang Tswelapele: "This is what I have been longing for" / Paskalia Ndapandula: "Peter speaks with so much clarity" / Amantle Mangwedi: "It was straight to the point and the sections are cut into nice short segments which made it easier to go through" Kathy Bermudez: "Excellent material. Well organized..."

Werner van Wyk: "Thank you Peter, once again your lesson and course have given me so much knowledge and understanding" / Yvonne Rudolph "I really look forward to take everything i learned in action" / Josephine Mahlangu: "exactly what I needed to know, absolutely valuable and helpful for my personal growth"

The course reminded me of the importance of continuous learning vis-a-vis continuous improvement. This means that the direct reports must also undergo training regularly through their own pace or through the initiative of the organization of office. Moreover, it is important that we recognize the successes of our direct reports such us the completion of a specific course or training.

Upon completing the course "Create A Culture Of Learning In Your Workplace," I engaged in a reflective analysis of the principles and strategies presented. The course underscored the necessity of fostering an environment that prioritizes continuous learning as an integral component of daily operations. One significant takeaway was the value of open communication. I initiated informal learning huddles within my team, which facilitated the sharing of insights and collaborative problem-solving. The informal nature of these sessions encouraged participation and engagement, leading to enhanced team dynamics and the generation of innovative ideas. However, challenges emerged, particularly regarding inconsistent participation and occasional deviations from the discussion topics. These experiences highlighted the need for a more structured approach to our learning huddles. Moving forward, I intend to establish a regular schedule and implement clear agendas to maintain focus and productivity during discussions. Additionally, the course prompted a shift in my mindset regarding the creation of learning cultures. Initially, I perceived this as reliant on formal training and policies. However, I now recognize that fostering a learning culture is fundamentally about cultivating daily habits and encouraging curiosity among all team members. This realization has empowered me to actively contribute to the development of a learning culture, understanding that even incremental actions can yield significant outcomes. In conclusion, the insights gained from this course have equipped me with essential tools to promote a learning culture within my workplace. I am committed to this ongoing journey, recognizing that it requires patience, feedback, and continuous adaptation. I look forward to observing the positive impact of these efforts on both team performance and overall workplace engagement.

The course gives a valuable perspective on fostering the culture of learning, practical examples, case-studies, and reflection questions. Love the variety of learning methods — not a standard Udemy business course! However, some technical aspects of the course could be improved. E.g. the first exam has too many questions to the degree that they are annoyingly repetitive, and it feels like those have been designed as small quizzes to be taken after each section, not all at once after 5 sections. Also, the exam scoring is incorrect: it happens past the 50% milestone but the question in the test about it says the correct answer is 25%.

Great way to start off in terms of putting the details meticulously on the Whiteboard and setting the expectations clear from the very beginning. I'm excited to go ahead. In-fact a lot of food for thought & action on my plate now to begin with and applying all the learnings in my organization as recommended.

The first 30% was based on why the course should be completed. 25% was training material with 4 possibly useful points, and the rest was repetition, even the quotes used were repeated a number of times. Not an engaging course

As i deep--dive into this learning/course, it is becoming more interesting and exciting and expository. The introductory aspect of this learning is quite inspiring and insightful. The various issues around what and one should do to drive and encourage learning culture is well understood. I am already geared up for more relevant and germane information that will guide me through this interesting journey.

We cannot become what we want, by remaining who we are - Max Depree. This course was exceptional, Thank you Peter for sharing your many years of experience and research. This course has opened up my eyes on how to create a culture of learning not just for myself but for others and organizations. I love the ideology of Learn, Unlearn and Re-Learn. In this every changing disruptive world, this is exactly what we need in order soar to greater heights. Many organizations might not see the value in creating a learning culture though based on the course content, I believe these principles and activities will help guide and transform that mindset. This is not a once off listen, and I will definitely visit this course again. As a recommendation I would have loved to see a Case Study on an organization that did not invest in creating a culture of learning and what was the outcome based on that. I know that you mentioned Microsoft with Steve and Satya, but perhaps in more detail. And more whiteboard sessions, I absolutely loved the whiteboard sessions. Very engaging and Picture Learning
