What you will learn
- Compare strategist vs. technician thinking to leverage the unique strengths of humans and machines
- Apply critical thinking frameworks to evaluate AI outputs and clarify the way you reason, argue, and make decisions
- Translate vague or incomplete requests into clearly framed problems and hypotheses, and identify biases that AI models often amplify
- Use generative AI to build measurement plans that help align expectations and set you up for success
- Apply analytical rigor and avoid logical fallacies like post hoc, false dilemma, cherry picking and generalization
- Deliver clear and compelling presentations to stakeholders, using AI as a sparring partner and role-playing tool
Course Description
AI is transforming the way we live, work, and make decisions. But in a world driven by algorithms, the most valuable skill isn’t how fast you can execute, it’s how well you can think.
Welcome to Critical Thinking in the Age of AI — a course designed to help you strengthen the skills that make us uniquely human, like reasoning, judgment, problem solving and communication.
We’ll start by exploring what it means to think like a strategist. While AI excels at execution, it relies on humans to ask the right questions. We’ll explore the habits of great critical thinkers, introduce the pillars of clarity, logic and creativity, and discuss why these skills are more important than ever.
Next we’ll introduce proven, time-tested frameworks for structured reasoning, from classics like the Socratic Method and Aristotelian logic to modern approaches like the Paul-Elder Critical Thinking model. We’ll introduce the core principles, practice applying them to real-world business cases, and explore how they can help you work smarter with AI, from writing better prompts to evaluating model outputs.
From there, we’ll start building powerful problem solving skills. You’ll learn how to translate vague requests, build testable hypotheses, and design measurement plans that align with business goals. You’ll also learn how to analyze and interpret data with confidence, by separating signal from noise, spotting flawed reasoning, and avoiding logical fallacies – like confirmation bias and false causation – that AI models tend to struggle with.
Last but not least, we’ll focus on the art of turning insight into impact. We’ll share practical tips to help you communicate with clarity and confidence, anticipate objections and defend your reasoning, and present data-driven stories that inspire stakeholders to act. This is how you move beyond simply “pulling reports”, and start delivering real value on the job.

I found this course very beneficial in strengthening my consulting and leadership skills. The content improved my understanding of stakeholder engagement, active listening, problem-solving techniques

The course provides a rear view on AI and at first place on Natural Intelligence. Practical view on Natural Intelligence focused on actionable decision making and then adds the place of AI as a way to improve the process but not replace human judgement. The title delivers what is promises in a best condensed way that easily brings understanding.

The content is good. However I've encountered two scenarios where J&J's security protocols conflicted with the training. In one case, I was instructed to take a screenshot to upload to ChatGPT for analysis, but the system blacked out my screen when the screenshot was initiated. In another case, I initiated a role-play activity within the course, but the system told me that J&J has disabled to Generative AI feature.

Yes it is a good match. As an engineer, it is easy to focus on our specific tasks without thinking about the implications or extent of our recommendations. Through this course, I feel that I have developed my thinking skills. Plus, with the knowledge of using AI properly, it would inadvertently change the way I work.

Critical thinking is your competitive edge Clarity at the start of analysis saves time, reduces bias, ensures your work aligns with real business goals. Strong analysis demand, validation, logic, and a wililingness to challenge your own conlcusion Insight, need communicated path to action Ai is a tool not a thinker

The Mini Project exercise was difficult. It requires much more training and content to be able to successfully complete the exercise. I took extensive notes throughout the training module and still had issues.

learning alot about how to improve some of the things i take for granted and dont think things through as per the info shared
By Mohamed Yehia on 1/11/2026
I was hesitant at the beginning to take this course. i thought that it is not that relevant to AI, but after I take it I found it an amazing one. Well balanced between theory and action.

There is so much out there for AI and prompt engineering etc, but this course went a level deeper and I even had a few "ah ha" moments where things clicked. Thank you for creating and sharing this content, definitely helpful and I am now asking better questions and getting better outputs
