Course Description
Data Science skills are still one of the most in-demand skills on the job market today. Many people see only the fun part of data science, tasks like: "search for data insight", "reveal the hidden truth behind the data", "build predictive models", "apply machine learning algorithms", and so on. The reality, which is known to most data scientists, is, that when you deal with real data, the most time-consuming operations of any data science project are: "data importing", "data cleaning", "data wrangling", "data exploring" and so on. So it is necessary to have an adequate tool for addressing given data-related tasks. What if I say, there is a freely accessible tool, that falls into the provided description above!
R is one of the most in-demand programming languages when it comes to applied statistics, data science, data exploration, etc. If you combine R with R's collection of libraries called tidyverse, you get one of the deadliest tools, which was designed for data science-related tasks. All tidyverse libraries share a unique philosophy, grammar, and data types. Therefore libraries can be used side by side, and enable you to write efficient and more optimized R code, which will help you finish projects faster.
This course includes several chapters, each chapter introduces different aspects of data-related tasks, with the proper tidyverse tool to help you deal with a given task. Also, the course brings to the table theory related to the topic, and practical examples, which are covered in R. If you dive into the course, you will be engaged with many different data science challenges, here are just a few of them from the course:
Tidy data, how to clean your data with tidyverse?
Grammar of data wrangling.
How to wrangle data with dplyr and tidyr.
Create table-like objects called tibble.
Import and parse data with readr and other libraries.
Deal with strings in R using stringr.
Apply Regular Expressions concepts when dealing with strings.
Deal with categorical variables using forcats.
Grammar of Data Visualization.
Explore data and draw statistical plots using ggplot2.
Use concepts of functional programming, and map functions using purrr.
Efficiently deal with lists with the help of purrr.
Practical applications of relational data.
Use dplyr for relational data.
Tidy evaluation inside tidyverse.
Apply tidyverse tools for the final practical data science project.
Course includes:
over 25 hours of lecture videos,
R scripts and additional data (provided in the course material),
engagement with assignments at the end of each chapter,
assignments walkthrough videos (where you can check your results).
All being said this makes one of Udemy's most comprehensive courses for data science-related tasks using R and tidyverse.
Enroll today and become the master of R's tidyverse!!!

Marko Intihar, PhD
Hi, I am Marko Intihar. I hold a Ph.D. in Logistics from the University of Maribor, where I began my professional journey as a researcher and teaching assistant, focusing on statistics, data analysis, and operations research. During my academic years, I also published several scientific papers in the area of time series modeling.
Curious to see theory in action, I transitioned into the industry, first in the retail sector, where I worked as a data scientist for a major retail company. This experience allowed me to apply machine learning and data mining techniques to real-world, large-scale datasets.
For over six years, I have worked as a data scientist in the banking industry, spanning two major banks. Financial data presents its unique challenges and opportunities, and this environment has deepened my skills in areas such as predictive modeling, advanced data analysis, and business intelligence.
What ties everything together is my passion for teaching. I create courses that help learners master the tools, techniques, and concepts of modern data science. Whether you are learning statistics, exploring machine learning, or diving into data analysis with tools like R or Python, my goal is to make complex topics accessible and practical.
If you are eager to build a strong foundation in data science and apply it to real-world problems, you are in the right place.

Elie YODI 26 Juillet 2026

presentation is chaotic, as if there's no preparation or script, making it annoying to follow.

amazing course with great material and great explaintion, but if you can change the final project as it has a lot of missing data and i am sure you can do much much better with your skills sir, Thank you

The instructor is clearly knowledgeable and has a passion/eagerness for exploring and guiding. This course covers a lot of material. At the same time it lacks demonstration of practical applications. The style of teaching resembles that of a teacher trying to cover as much of the syllabus as possible. Only the final project is near to any practical application. However, the instructor just rushes across the project without adequately explaining the "whys" and "hows". And the instructor has tried the "code along" approach which is good, but a lot of bugs appear in the programs which is distracting and debugging takes a lots of time. I have learnt a lot of theories in this course. But I am not sure about applying the same in any real world scenario.

This is an awesome course to get familiar with R and R studio and explained with every bit of detail. Great mixture of Theory and Practical classes. I just don't understand why there are not many students compared to other courses. Great job, and I've even bought a Data Visualization course in R.

Instructor did a lot of prep work to create this course. The 31 hours of content is intimidating, but each lesson is covered twice - once as theory and once as practical demonstration. Different learners will want the different parts, the slides, the demonstration video, and the actual R file for each section which is downloadable as a resource. Lots of new material is presented in the homework walkthroughs. The lectures don't prepare you entirely for the homework, in the walkthroughs he pulls in new concepts that haven't been covered yet. So the homework walkthroughs are definitely worthwhile.

I've never seen a more structured course even In platforms or in standard education programs in universities. I'm studying a masters degree in Data Science and I have a good level of python programming, however most of my teachers use R in class, so the learning curve had been really steep for me the first semester. I've been following this course for the last two months and I think it will be very helpful in order to have a better performance in my next semester at the university (I'll let you know updating this review).

Wow, what a ride. This course is an amazing primer for R, tidyverse and data wrangling with basic data visualization techniques put into mix. There are also some advanced topics that really opened up a broad new horizon for me to explore (hint: bang!!! - functional programming). Scripts and assignment solutions are also provided so it's easy to follow along. All in all - it's well worth to invest time for a deep dive into data science fundamentals. Two thumbs up!

This is a fantastic course for beginners, I bet! It is more beneficial when one practices side by side with the Instructor with another sample data and see how the same codes become something else in a different context and understand the applications. The instructor has put fantastic effort to convey most things in the course. One great addition to the course can be focussing on different types of common errors that a novice expects to receive when he/she applies it to a different dataset, and why it is important to understand. For example, "Can't coerce element 1 from a character to a double". Overall, I have learned a lot from this course and I recommend it highly.

I find explanations clear, to the point, and fluid. I am truly satisfied with this course. I am not yet where Regex is taught, I feel it is a topic that needs a book for itself. Not even "R for Data Science" tryies to go deep with that one.
