Course Description
Today we live in a world where tons of data is generated every second. We need to analyze data to get some useful insight. One of the strongest weapons for data insight is data visualization. Probably you have heard this one before: "A picture tells more than a thousand words combined ". Therefore to tell stories from the data we need tools for producing adequate and amazing graphics. Here R as one of the most rapidly growing tools in the fields of data science and statistics provides needed assistance. If you combine R with its library ggplot2 you get one of the deadliest tools for data visualization, which grows every day and is freely accessible to anyone.
This course is designed to first give you quick and proper theoretical foundations for creating statistical plots. Then you dive into the world of exploratory data analysis where you are confronted with different datasets and creating a wide variety of statistical plots.
If you take this course, you will learn a ton of new things. Here are just a few topics you will be engaged with:
The grammar of graphics (the idea behind statistical plots, the foundation of ggplot2)
Data transformation with dplyr and tidyr (crash course included)
Exploratory data analysis (EDA) (statistical plots for exploring one continuous or one discrete variable)
EDA for exploring two or more variables (different statistical plots)
Combine ggplot2 with RMarkdown to wrap up your analysis and produce HTML reports
Create some additional types of plots by combining ggplot2 and supplementary libraries (word cloud, parallel coordinates plot, heat map, radar plot, ...)
Draw maps to show the spread of coronavirus disease
Customize the plot's theme
Create subplots using cowplot library
Highlight data on your plot with gghighlight library
and much more...
Course includes:
over 20 hours of lecture videos,
R scripts and additional data (provided in the course material),
engagement with assignments, where you have to test your skills,
assignments walkthrough videos (where you can check your results).
All being said this makes one of Udemy's most comprehensive courses for data visualization using R and ggplot2.
Enroll today and become the master of data visualization!!!

Marko Intihar, PhD
Hi, I am Marko Intihar. I hold a Ph.D. in Logistics from the University of Maribor, where I began my professional journey as a researcher and teaching assistant, focusing on statistics, data analysis, and operations research. During my academic years, I also published several scientific papers in the area of time series modeling.
Curious to see theory in action, I transitioned into the industry, first in the retail sector, where I worked as a data scientist for a major retail company. This experience allowed me to apply machine learning and data mining techniques to real-world, large-scale datasets.
For over six years, I have worked as a data scientist in the banking industry, spanning two major banks. Financial data presents its unique challenges and opportunities, and this environment has deepened my skills in areas such as predictive modeling, advanced data analysis, and business intelligence.
What ties everything together is my passion for teaching. I create courses that help learners master the tools, techniques, and concepts of modern data science. Whether you are learning statistics, exploring machine learning, or diving into data analysis with tools like R or Python, my goal is to make complex topics accessible and practical.
If you are eager to build a strong foundation in data science and apply it to real-world problems, you are in the right place.

Alles wurde sehr schön Schritt für Schritt erklärt. Auch wenn ich ggplot2 schon länger verwende, so habe ich dennoch einiges neues gelernt, was ich nun anwenden kann. Fantastisch!

The course is overall a nice one, and there are plenty of topics treated during the sessions. I have struggled a little to complete it, because of the amount of different areas touched very briefly. Also, when the instructor teaches, he often seem to speak to himself, rather than to the audience, and sometimes he just goes on with his coding without really explaining the rationale of what he is about to do. It is a good course to follow through, but only if there is already an idea of what it is going on. Otherwise, it can easily become frustrating for this lack of explanation.

I'm taking this class following the R for Data Science Bootcamp. The two are very comprehensive and I highly recommend taking the first before this one. It spends a lot of time on base R, but I think it's helpful to know and have that context prior to this course. This course is everything I hoped for - very comprehensive and quickly getting me up to speed producing visuals.

It would have been better to go through some basics of importing data in tibble format as this exerise is specific to tidyverse package and not base R importing functions.

Very good course and very details, it can be shorten each lesson than this, but sometime I see the real world mistake and how to solve it from instructor which it good. More than that the instructor also provide the way of thinking how to solve in each problems,

I like everything about the course. Very well prepared; of course it meets more than my expectation. I would give 7 starts if there is the 7-start option.

Course is clear, and progresses logically, each lesson gong from general comments and context, to specific examples. Pace is comfortable. Very pleased.

complicated syntax for linear prediction models whereas it can be done in a much simpler way. Standard charts treatment is very basic and elementary using 03~04 data points.

Just halfway on my journey. It is a really good course. To whoever wants to take this course - you should know some basic knowledge about R and statistics if you really want to take full advantage of this great course.

The sequence of introducing each topic is easy to follow. Each topic adds to the previous in a way that it builds a good foundation to make the subsequent topics easy to understand.
