Our take
Based on the ratings of 15,900 students, a sample of their written reviews and the syllabus, as the course stood in March 2026. No course pays to be reviewed.
Vinoth Parthasarathy's course is a concept-first walk through the standard data structures: arrays, linked lists, hash tables, stacks, queues, trees and graphs, followed by shortest paths, searching and sorting. The syllabus shows 108 lectures and about 11 hours, so it moves quickly. More than 61,000 students have enrolled, and the requirements say no computer science background is needed. Despite the interview framing, the syllabus gives coding interview preparation a single 9-minute lecture.
Reviewers praise the teaching. They describe the explanations as simple, visual and easy to follow, and one says it suits both novices and engineers brushing up. The complaints are consistent too. One reviewer misses recursion and wants practice problems with solutions. Another calls it a basic course, with Java implementations that are fine for college exams but not meant for LeetCode or competitive programming. One mentions a heavy accent, and one suspects the rating is inflated.
The numbers are still strong: 4.8 stars across about 15,900 ratings, with roughly 13 percent at three stars or fewer. It was last updated in March 2026, so it is not a stale 2019 recording. Treat it as the place to understand the ideas, then pair it with a problem-based course or a practice site. Taken alone, it will not get anyone interview-ready.
Pros
- Animated, visual explanations that reviewers say make the concepts simple to follow
- Covers the core list in 108 lectures: arrays through graphs, shortest paths, searching and sorting
- Refreshed in March 2026, so it is not a stale 2019 recording
- No prerequisites, and about 11 hours is short enough to finish quickly
Cons
- Interview prep is one 9-minute lecture, with no coding exercises and just one quiz
- Recursion is missing, and one reviewer wants practice problems with solutions
- One reviewer calls it basic and Java-based, not suited to LeetCode or competitive programming
the concepts are explained quite simply and allows students to visualize the concepts taught as well.
Listed for all levels, but it really suits true beginners to early intermediate; one reviewer calls it basic.

Course Description
This Data Structures and Algorithms course is the complete masterclass to help you understand every major DSA concept and crack your next coding interview with confidence. You'll learn Arrays, Linked Lists, Stacks, Queues, Hash Tables, Trees, Graphs, Searching Algorithms, Sorting Algorithms, Big O Notation, and more — all taught with custom animations and visual walkthroughs that make even the most complex topics simple and memorable.
Whether you're a computer science student, a self-taught programmer, or an experienced developer preparing for technical interviews at top tech companies like Google, Amazon, Microsoft, and Meta — this course gives you the structured, hands-on foundation you need to solve problems like a professional.
Why This Course Is Different
Most DSA courses dump theory with slides and expect you to figure things out. This course is different.
Every single concept is taught using animated visual explanations — not boring PowerPoint slides. You'll actually see how data flows through a Linked List, how a Binary Search Tree balances itself, how Dijkstra's Algorithm finds the shortest path, and how sorting algorithms rearrange elements step by step. This visual approach is why students consistently say things like "This is the first time I actually understood Trees and Graphs."
The course follows a carefully designed structure: concept first → visual explanation → implementation → practice. Each section builds on the previous one, so you develop a deep, connected understanding rather than memorizing isolated topics.
