Data Visualization with Kibana (Udemy.com)

The course itself is relatively straightforward, but utterly hamstringed by the fact that the interface has changed (and will continue to change). It would very nice if there was an additional 1 min lecture at the start of Section 3: Visualizations in which it is shown how to get to the used visualizations (Legacy -> Aggregation-based). It would also be good if it was more explicit that the last drilldown dashboard (in Section 4, that links orders and access-logs) should not be saved. Since saving it interferes with what is shown in Section 5 for spaces

A very good course, which really helped me get to grips with the basics. I struggled at times, though, as I am using OpenSearch where some features have different names and are not available. I feel having a simple slide, explaining this would have been super helpful, just like in the Elastic course. Some worked examples on Document Level Security for something like where a user works (ie Department), would have also been really helpful. The first of these suggestions would have given an extra half a star, and the last the full 5.

Thing are explained really well at the right pace if you pay attention. There are several areas that could be updated, following the changes of Elastic in newer versions, but sometimes this is helpful as well, as you spend more time finding the new equivalents, you get deeper knowledge of the GUI romaing around. All examples are useful and almost everything is touched.

Niet eerder was ik in aanraking geweest met Kibana. Door deze cursus heb ik mooie opstap gemaakt om met Kibana aan de slag te kunnen gaan. Enigzins jammer dat de in de training gebruikte versie niet in overeenstemming was met de versie (v8) die ik in gebruik heb. Desondanks ben ik nu in staat om zelf een dashboard te bouwen wat ik voor de training niet kon.

Great review of Kibana. Bo does a great job. He stays "on topic" and discusses "how to leverage" the Kibana dashboard. From Visualizations to Dashboards to Roles/Users/Spaces. In no time at all i fel comfortable navigating the kibana dashboard and building visualizations to be used in dashboards. Bo is easy to listen to, articulate and is able quickly communicate abstract concepts/relationships. I am hopeful my porfessional development requires me to use Bo's other material.

I also took Bo's Elasticsearch course and finished it before this one. The elastic knowledge definitely helps!

Great course. It shows you how to create querys, dashboards and drilldowns in a very easy and understandable way. The pace of the course is excellent and it is easy to follow along. I have jumped back to this course a couple of times just to refresh my knowledge.

The course contains plenty of information in all areas of Kibana. Didn't give five stars because it is a course focused strictly in Kibana but I think a small project should be implemented in order to solve a certain use case with the this tool. Additionally, parts like monitoring and/alerts and machine learning aren't taught. Maybe in a near future update to the course they are included ;)

Good enough for the beginners. I learned a lot from this course. The Instructor makes it so easy to follow and experiment. The best way to learn this course is by practicing what you have learned. I am lucky that I have Kirbana at work and I am able to play around

The course was great for getting started with Kibana. Some of the content differ (apps and menus). The reason for requiring the trial license was not sufficiently articulated (it enables user management in the last slides). One Dashboard (customers) was not created in the course, but other slides referred to and used it. But otherwise I feel I have a good start with Kibana. I can recommend the course.
