Design a Logo for Free in Inkscape (Udemy.com)

I thought that this was a very good practical introduction for Inkscape, especially for anyone interested in designing logos. I learned enough to get started, along with valuable insights into a real designer's process. The length of the course was perfect for logo design, and the tips on uploading sketches to trace and making transparent backgrounds were appreciated.

It isn't what it was advertised as. Just to draw a few lines, he will spend a whole video on it. But I am not trying to hate! It is a good course for a beginning beginner. Buy it if you think it is worth it. But for me it wasent. Especially for $88!!!!!!!! I finished this in 3 hours in the span of two days!!! c'mon.

This course is nearly perfect for what it is. While no one can teach you how to be a professional grade designer in two hours, this is a quick, rapid-fire course that gives you the foundations start small projects of your own and tackle more advanced tutorials. I'm coming at this with experience in Adobe Illustrator and so I just wanted a no-nonsense overview of all the tools and processes in Inkscape. This course was fantastic for its lack of fluff. I'd rate this five stars if there were just a little less 'mouth noise' in some of the lessons. Section Eight had some... particularly wet sounding swallows that got a bit of a wince. It gave the whole lesson a bit of an unprofessional vibe, but that certainly shouldn't stop anyone from taking this course as a whole.

I have been a web developer for several years but I am definitely not a graphics person and have been paying for my logo work. I decided to give this course a shot to see if i could learn enough to do my own logos and I am very glad I did. I feel this is a great course for anyone to learn about Inkscape and actually get some ideas about how to actually implement the capabilities of the software to do what you need graphics wise.

This course is a great primer. First it takes students through the Inkscape's toolbox, which may sometimes seem a bit boring, but is necessary for those who never used it. The instructor stresses which tools are of particular importance. Later we witness a real-world example of logo design. I liked how the need for manual kerning was emphasized since the default one indeed often looks poor. What I think is a bit missing is the final touch of the project between picking the final version and passing it to the client.

Brilliant course.The Instructor is knowledgeable,engaging with good delivery and understanding of the subject matter.He takes the student from understanding inkscape's software and its various tools to going through (practical), how to design a logo to a client's given specifications, how he goes about accomplishing this creative process and finalising the end result.Along the way he gives hints and tips as well as why he uses some but not all of inkscapes tools as and when needed. The video's and Audio are of a very good standard.The whole course flows in a logical manner,which is easy to follow.The first section covers inkscape and its tools with practical examples.The second section covers a practical example of how to design a given logo for a client. There are also a couple of small projects to carry by the student,so that they can design logo's to a given specification,just like the instructor did in the practical example. This is a practical course,the student needs to download,fire up and get their hands dirty by using the software. Worthy of 5 stars.

So this is a really short course and mostly covers the very basics of using Inkscape. If you are familiar with the program and your interest is in logo design, Daniel's Logo Design in Adobe Illustrator - for Beginners & Beyond seems like a much better course. Inkscape should have most of the features needed for logo design and you can translate many techniquest to Illustrator quite easily. The logo part of this course is okay, produces a nice flat logo design but that's about it.

Curso 100% recomendado para quie quiera iniciarse por primera vez con el software Inkscape, y a su vez como es el proceso de desarrollo y produccion de un Logo Design. Los videos son muy cortos y muy comodos de seguir. Cosa que hace la explicacion de las herramientas muy claras y facil de entender. Ademas, el formador, despues de explicar los fundamentos y herramientas de Inkscape, pasa ya a un tema practico: como desarrollar un logo de principio a fin. todo ello, muy bien explicado y ordenado Tambien se agradece, que al terminar el curso, el formador expone unos PDF a modo de brieffing, para que hagas ejercicios con todo lo aprendido en el curso. 100% recomendado

The course is exactly what I was looking for. It takes you from a point of self doubt to clarity in logo design. I love the pacing and the content. However you have to have a background in using design software as it moves quite fast. Thanks for the course. I will definitely recommend it to more people.

Great course, easy to follow and very helpful to me. Wanted to create a logo for my own website and doesn't want to spend money for Illustrator. Inkscape seems to be perfect for me.
