Full description:
In this course I will teach you how to design and model for Laser Cutting using the free and powerful Autodesk Fusion 360 software. Most of the lessons are easy to follow practical examples where I take you through the design of a product step by step.
Typically people model for laser cutting using 2D softwares like Illustrator or Inkscape. These work fine for simple designs, but If you really want to create interesting or more complex designs they often fall short. That is where 3D modeling comes in. I have learned and developed methods and techniques to design for laser cutting using 3d modeling, and in this course I want to share them with you!
By the end of the course you will be able to create designs that are quite simply impossible to design using 2d softwares, and you will do it effortlessly and while having fun doing so. Some of the topics I cover are: the fundamentals of 3d modeling and working with Fusion 360, parametric product modeling, incorporating movement into your design and how to design for foldable materials like cardboard. You also learn how to Render your designs
Each lesson builds upon the knowledge gained in the previous lessons, and by the end you will have enough experience and confidence to start creating your own designs for Laser Cutting in 3d.
This course is perfect for you if you are interested in laser cutting. The specific factors you need to take into account for laser cutting are thoroughly discussed, and you will also build your 3d modeling skills needed to realize your ideas.

I'm Larno and I am an Industrial Designer from the Netherlands. I graduated university specializing in 3d modeling and I have always loved using modern methods of manufacturing like 3d printing and laser cutting to prototype my ideas. Now I work on several businesses where we use these production methods to create amazing designs. I have a lot of experience 1 on 1 tutoring people in 3d modeling and am excited to bring this to a higher level, which I have done with my courses on 3d modeling with Fusion 360.

So far after Lesson 2 - Professional, fairly detailed, thorough in explanation, pace is great and easy to follow. Although not covering everything - the info provided encapsulate all needed when you just start off! Well done!

I loved the living hinge and cardboard design using sheet metal functionality. I was trying to figure out how to do a living hinge so this really helped. My only criticism is that I wish the teacher would have named the sketches and tool documents. Its really difficult to follow when referring to "sketch 21" instead of something with an appropriate name.

The school I teach in is planning to get a laser cutter. I did this course to understand basics in teaching how to use Fusion 360 to make models to use a laser cutter to fabricate. Very easy to follow. A helpful addition may be to add a script for students to follow on with / translate into another language. Thanks again. PRJ , South Korea.

As someone fairly new to Fusion 360 and having only made basic items with a laser, this was a great course to expand my skill-set and start trying some new things. Content was very well explained and presented.

Learned a lot of new features in a short amount of time. Yes, you can find all the free on the internet, but they would probably be separated. Here they are all in the same video with practical examples. I recommend it because it saves you a lot of time when you are new to Fusion 360.

ALL THIS INFORMATION IS AVAILABLE FOR FREE ON THE YOUTUBE OR ON OTHER WEB PAGES... WASTE OF MONEY AND TIME... I DO NOT MIND SPENDING MONEY ON SOMETHING USEFUL, I DID IT MANY TIMES BUT IF I PAY SOMETHING, I EXPECT SOMETHING MORE... :(

As a beginner with practically no experience with the program or the laser cutting tools, i got a lot more information and really usable tricks than i taught i would get. Following the steps seems easy to make mi own creations.

The instructor is giving very detailed and thorough guidance. They're not advancing too fast so it's easy to follow and absorb the information. Only slight minus is that the voice of the instructor is sometimes a bit unclear, an equipment issue probably, whether theirs of mine, I'm not sure.

This is a great course, exactly what i expected when i read the title! I've never used Fusion 360 before so I'm still clumsy with it but as always, practice makes perfect;) The stuff that we learn in the course is (not just by watching but doing it ourselves) well thought of, gradualy adding complexion to the projects and learning about new tools within Fusion360.

Fantastic instructor! always answers questions and goes above and beyond to make sure our designs work, even if we deviate from the original course a bit to try "extra features" on our own. Larno really knows the tools and techniques, and has been super helpful throughout. Thanks so much, mate! ❣
