Our take
Based on the ratings of 390 students, a sample of their written reviews and the syllabus, as the course stood in September 2025. No course pays to be reviewed.
Imran Teli's course is a wide, shallow tour of the tools a DevOps or cloud beginner keeps hearing about. Across 90 lectures and about 14 hours, it moves through virtual machine setup, Linux, Vagrant, Bash scripting, networking basics, AWS, Git, Maven, Python and Docker. The requirements list only basic computer knowledge, and the stated audience is people new to DevOps, cloud or IT. It has about 3,700 students and a 4.7 rating from 390 reviews. The syllabus shows no quizzes or coding exercises, so practice depends on following along.
Reviewers praise the plain explanations and the live demos. One liked that Imran leaves his own gaffes in, which made learning feel less tense. Another called the live demo of building the VM a great coaching method. The complaints are consistent. Some say it moves fast, and one reviewer missed a way to ask questions in real time. The AWS screens look dated next to the current console, and the Vagrant section skips steps a learner following along would need. One mentions audio sync problems, and another says the script does not always match what is said.
It was last updated in September 2025, so it is fairly fresh, though the AWS visuals show their age. Treat it as a map, not a finished education. Each topic gets a short stretch, and Maven only gets two lectures. One reviewer went on to buy another of Imran's DevOps courses, which seems the right way to use this one. For anyone starting from zero, it is a sensible first stop. Anyone with some Linux already should look elsewhere.
Pros
- Live demos, including a manual Ubuntu VM build, that reviewers found easy to follow
- Covers Linux, Bash, Git, Docker, AWS and Python in 90 lectures, so a newcomer sees the whole toolbox
- Simple language, and unedited slips left in, which eases beginner nerves
- Updated September 2025 and rated 4.7 across 390 reviews
Cons
- AWS screens look dated, and the Vagrant section skips steps if you follow along in your own lab
- No quizzes or coding exercises, and no way to ask questions in real time
- Fast pace, plus some audio sync problems and scripts that differ from the narration
Very informative and a good start for introducing the common tools of DevOps
Suits true beginners and career changers; basic computer skills are the only requirement, but the pace is brisk.

This course is pretty good, and you'll definitely learn a great deal. I just wish some of the visual content was updated to match what is current (AWS section in beginner pre-req). It's not bad enough where you'll won't learn or be able to figure it out since it's only visually different. There are some parts in other sections that if you're following along in your own lab, it'll be difficult since there was no mentioning of those steps prior (Vagrant section of the pre-req). Overall, still a pretty good course and you'll learn a lot. I would recommend.

It has been an amazing worthwhile learning experience so far for a beginner like myself. I must commend the ability to employ simpler expressions as well as the attention to detail, and more importantly choosing to leave the unedited gaffes by the tutor himself provides a comfy learning environment that helps to ease the tension to be a perfectionist.

Great content and course structure. Some videos have audio sync problems, and some could not be viewed (most probably Udemy streaming issue) I've bought "DevOps Beginners to Advanced with Projects - 2023" course as well and continue learning with Imran. Thanks for your efforts

Good introduction to highly in-demand skill set. Lecturer sets a good pace, and like any good teacher, expects the student to do some homework on their own. Would recommend.

covered topics are good for pre-requisites video explanations are also well enough to understand the basics but the takeaway materials like summary pdf or slides for future reference or review are insufficient, actually other than linux and vagrant sections there are no resources for other sections
