Our take
Based on the ratings of 49,142 students, a sample of their written reviews and the syllabus, as the course stood in June 2026. No course pays to be reviewed.
Imran Teli's course is a very wide DevOps survey, about 64 hours over 378 lectures. It starts with Linux, Git, Vagrant and Bash, then moves through AWS, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab, Python, Terraform, Ansible, monitoring, Docker and Kubernetes, with a Google Cloud project along the way. The syllabus also adds AI helpers such as Copilot and Amazon Q. It is pitched at total beginners, though one reviewer calls it not beginner friendly, and the reviews suggest it suits people with a little tech background best.
Praise centers on clear explanations and real hands-on practice. Reviewers call the teaching easy to follow, and one working DevOps professional says it reinforced skills from the job. Another says it taught the foundations under the tools, like networks and operating systems. The complaints are consistent too. Some find it padded, with long setups and watch-me-do-it walkthroughs instead of exercises. One says parts are outdated, another says the teaching assistants tell stuck students to reinstall rather than debug, and one dislikes how much leans on AI. One more says it stays at the basics.
The ratings back up the praise. Nearly 30,000 of the roughly 49,000 ratings are five stars, and fewer than 1,000 are one or two stars. The course was last updated in June 2026. It is a paid course with huge scope, and it works best as a survey that helps you find which tools deserve a deeper, dedicated course later. Look elsewhere for fast, exercise-heavy training on one tool.
Pros
- Covers Linux, AWS, CI/CD, Terraform, Ansible, monitoring and Kubernetes in one place
- Reviewers say explanations are clear and most lessons are hands-on
- Real projects, including an AWS lift and shift and a Google Cloud build
- Updated in June 2026, with a Bestseller badge and about 290,000 students
Cons
- Some reviewers say it drags, with long setups and watch-me-do-it sections
- Breadth over depth: one reviewer says it only teaches the basics
- No coding exercises, and single reviewers report outdated steps and weak support
It is a fantastic course and everything was well explained and most importantly mostly everything was hands-on.
Labeled all levels with only basic computer knowledge required, but a reviewer warns it is not beginner friendly.

The course not only taught me DevOps and tools, but the fundamental skills for that as well – infrastructure, cloud, networks, operating systems, and so many more valuable skills. Thank you Imran and the course team for the amount of effort put into this. Your course was amazing :)

The course covers each and every tool and conceptual clarity that the instructor provides is way above expectations. Though this course is not beginner friendly. But even if you have a little bit of work experience/ done some self-projects on web-development, this is a must do course for gaining deep conceptual clarity. Thanks a lot, Imran! Will always be grateful for this course.

The Leture till now is quiet good and understandable, just it feels a little bit difficult to understand the filters and the VIM Commands, that lectures need a little bit slow.

It's a nice course for beginners to intermediate and for experienced if they need to brush up their skills, for those learning new, i would recommend to learn completely one section before moving on to next section.

I had other virtual server solutions configured on my Windows host. This exercise clearly showed where to disable those features to allow VirtualBox to run! That was so appreciated. Very detailed. Very good explanations on why we are doing things. I'm loving this course so far!

The course demonstrates that Imran is highly knowledgeable, and he does a thorough job covering a wide range of DevOps concepts. However, the overall structure of the course makes it feel much longer than it needs to be. Many sections take a “watch me do it” approach rather than guiding the learner to actively practise and build confidence through hands‑on tasks. As a result, the key points sometimes get buried under lengthy walkthroughs, and it can be difficult to stay engaged or feel like you’re progressing. A more concise, action‑oriented structure focused on essential concepts followed by practical exercises would make the learning experience far more effective. While the content is solid, the pacing and teaching style may not suit learners who prefer a more direct, task‑driven approach.

i have already did a max part of this series a long ago. i thought that i should skip the linux section but thank god i didn't. there is so much more to learn everytime.i wish i had found this course earlier. though i would say the presentations are damn boring like hell but practical are..... till now it's going well lets see what happens throughout the course. edit:- so i am on python part and the software asked me that you are halfway would you change your reviews? I would still say that i wish i had found this course earlier. thanks imran, udemy and all the people/team behind this. absolutely grateful.❤️

Overall I got the idea about Devops, If you are complete beginner in Devops and want to learn the topics devops, this course is recommended, Although videos are too long, As it can be shorter with only exact information. So that We can learn fast and research about exact thing on our own.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ This is one of the best DevOps courses I have taken on Udemy. Imran Teli explains complex concepts in a simple and practical way, making it easy to understand both the fundamentals and advanced topics. I especially appreciate the hands-on projects, real-world examples, and the coverage of modern DevOps tools and practices. The course helped me gain a clearer understanding of CI/CD, Docker, Kubernetes, cloud technologies, automation, and DevOps workflows. The content is well-structured, beginner-friendly, and also valuable for learners who already have some IT experience. I highly recommend this course to anyone who wants to build strong DevOps skills and work on practical projects.
