I had many areas I needed clarification concerning discrete mathematics for my compauter science degree studies. Richard's teaching approach, which makes no assumtion about the student's prior knowldge of the subject, improved my performance by more than 90%. He takes you through the subject as if you have never seen maths before, leaving 'no stone unturned' in the process. Though his voice speed is a bit low, it right for mathematics. Most importantly, he provides practice questions and soultions to check on your understanding. I would recommend this course to anyone who is weak in discrete mathematics, or anyone who thinks is not good in mathematics. For only few GBP, this course owesome!

Overall, good course. He does say basic understanding of algebra is required, however, he sometimes skips over explanations of non-basic methods. Also, he has a mistake in a video in which he was made aware of 2 years ago, but he hasn't corrected the video. I would not recommend this for deeper understanding of discrete math. This course only scratches the surface. Adding summation induction would be helpful.

A little dry, but incredibly beneficial. I picked up this course because my college Discrete Math course is a joke! Dr. Han helped me to understand the concepts incredibly well.

I really enjoyed this course. It really clarified and solidified the foundation of Discrete Mathematics for me. Aside from the low volume and somewhat terrible handwriting; it was easy to follow!

Videos are very straightforward and to the point. Instructor is clear for the most part. There was 1 video I had to re-watch a couple of times, but mostly subject matter is presented clearly and concisely.

Professor, It was an awesome course. My only complaint is that you switch variables a lot and there seems to be a bit of overlap in their meaning. Maybe if you gave primer on why you use which variables. For example, I believe for some number that is in a set of number you use the letter "c", however if you say the work domain you use "x" to represent that and then a number in that range you would use "k". I sometimes felt a bit confused at your usage and it distracted from what you were teaching. If this is the standard I only humbly ask that you explain why you use which letters, or please have consitancy in your usage :)

This course is excellent, if you need a refresh or quick understanding of discrete mathematics foundations. The best thing of it is that the instructor goes directly to the point, put you to make exercises and later on you have solutions to confirm that you are really understanding. Furthermore, the speech tone, speed, voice and duration of explanations is very well balanced.

I enjoyed learning this course as the concepts were well explained. However, I would have loved it if more practice questions were provided in the problem sets especially for the topic "mathematical induction".

This teacher definitely explains the concepts well, but the speed of the course is extremely slow and the examples given (at least in the first 3 lectures) are much too excessive. Given what I have seen so far, I am anticipating that this class will give a very good base for Discrete Math, but I do not believe that it will sufficiently prepare me for any classes that require a college level discrete math course.

Fantastic he really explains it thoroughly the foundation of discrete math and the videos are short, when you are learning have a pen and write and think about it as you are watching it will make sense! Thanks for having these videos
