Editorial Illustration Tutorial: From Drawing to Photoshop (Udemy.com)

I absolutely loved this course. You didn't try to teach us how to draw, but you tried to inspire and encourage us to create our very own art pieces. I loved the watch you sketching, even though it might seem boring for some, for me it felt like encouragement to sketch unperfect and unique sketches. This course is a huge inspiration for anyone who really has a huge heart for art and for those who value the language of pictures more then words.

gute Erklärungen, manchmal könnte sie ein wenig mehr ihre Gedanken laut aussprechen wenn sie etwas macht und zeichnet. Ich hätte mir erwartet mehr über die Arbeit in Illustrator zu erfahren aber vlt. kommt das noch. - Gut es kam ein bisschen was in Photoshop aber der Großteil wurde nicht erklärt was sie da gerade macht. Hab von dem kurzen Kurs nur ein bisschen was mitnehmen können. Es gab auch keine Aufabenstellungen zum Üben.

I like the way you teach to always bring out our own uniqueness, style and character in illustration. I wish there were more similar courses. The reason why I did not mark it as 5 star course is that for the person who is not very well familiar with photoshop (like me) is difficult to understand and follow certain techniques you show in Ps. But I guess I just have to get another course for that:) Thanks again! I would highly recommend it to anyone who wants to follow commercial illustration path.

Good course overall and it gave a good understanding of the process of illustration. However, many technical details were completely glossed over. So more of a process oriented course rather than technical. I just wish some of the detailed work on the colouring in Photoshop was explained a little better. But I still learnt a good deal from the course.

This is a great crash course on editorial and just some basic concepts on constructing an effective illustration. The instructor is obviously experienced in this field and has talent. I would love to see more about illustration. I would have done 5/5 but the actual spoken presentation is a bit fragmented in places and sometimes distracting because it is so scripted. I also would not mind seeing a little more detail in the technical process or just to go through it more than once especially as the layers on the screen are so small it is hard to see what is going on sometimes.

O curso destaca um tipo de ilustração aplicável comercialmente, porém muitos minutos o curso o vídeo é totalmente no silêncio e com um time lapse de como ela fez...poderia ser mais explicativo a técnica e menos tempo fazendo o Roughf no geral. Não consegui perceber algumas técnicas nos modelos que ela já havia feito, a respeito de brushes, técnicas ou coisas q ela fez... O curso é bom, mas tem muito a melhorar.

This course was, by far, one of my favorites. The instructor gave excellent explanations re: the process of creating editorial illustrations. She demonstrated her artistic process, so you could see her sketches and how they transformed, her line work, and coloring. Loved the combination of traditional and digital displayed in the course. This course gave enough information that someone could use it and actually create an editorial sample from start to finish. The one small issue is the instructor seems to be lecturing from a book or reading off cards (?) so there's a bit of a stilted feel to the lecture. Despite this...still REALLY informative course and I'd highly recommend.

The course is great and Teacher is really good and well informed. Is really easy to understand that she put love in what she does and that she loves her job. Anyways, there are few videos that- my point of view - can be done much better..ok fast forward , but will be nice understand what she is doing. ..plus having video with no sound at all is really disturbing me :D The theory´s part of this branch of Design is really well explained and i must thank You cause you gave a bunch of suggest lectures and info where ,those who have interest, can go forward with this study.

It is wonderful to be able to watch a pro's working process step by step and learn personal techniques. Also, there are many useful tips for beginners to apply instantly. I want to grab a pen and draw instantly after watching this tutorial! As for nitpicking, there are long pauses especially in history section that made the lectures less smooth. It would be more enjoyable if there were some music during illustration process or, even better, some explanations about what you were doing at the moment.

I finally figured out the color wheel, thanks to this course (lectures 24 & 25), I don't know why I couldn't grasp the concept before and it always seemed to me like the dark end of Photoshop.... Christine explained it with great visuals that helped me understand the terms and relations between colors very clearly. I highly recommend this course, even if you're not into editorial illustration, you'll learn a great deal and find great resources too :)
