Enhance Your Speaking Voice (Udemy.com)

I didn't like the course... I forced me to advance to see if it improved but it didn't. To begin with... the voice of the teacher, that should be the clear example of energy and control dindn't sound to me convincing at all. Then the teachings and the exercices were again weak. I dropped from the course and have begun another course that is much more gratifying. I don't know how it got so many good grades... maybe it's just me.

So far, near the very beginning, it's harder to see the value to me and the short videos are inefficient (so far). I don't care about the tiny details or about being finicky -- like worrying about caffeine or alcohol, or having a humid environment -- because I'm not a voice professional, I just want to increase my "presence" with a stronger voice. The first few videos on vocal folds can be summarized for most people by: Rest your voice sometimes, and drink water every 20 minutes if using your voice for awhile. I hope the rest of the course is better.

This course is a great introduction to the fundamentals of good voice production including useful exercises. Content and length of is just right. Handout material, consisting of chapter summary and exercises, helps greatly for revision and review. I would definitely recommend this course to anyone interested in improving the quality of their talking voice, for work or leisure.

Thank you so much! This course is great! I have done several online courses and this is one of the best in terms of relevance and personal delivery. I do have a fairly good voice I think but this course has helped me to make far more of it and has familiarised me with aspects of speaking I never dreamed of! I enjoyed the warm, enthusiastic delivery and the exercises were understandable and so very appropriate to improving everyday speech and for those special occasions. Marina’s knowledge and approach is fantastic – I do think she deserves better technical support however which is my only criticism but I can’t wait for other courses from Marina.

the video should have been professionally shot. the content lacked engagement - it was a lecture style delivery - but lacking in sufficient real life examples (e.g. good speakers versus poor speakers, ones with good pitch, tonality, pace versus those who have not yet developed the tools) to make it interesting. Overall - I thought the price of the course was expensive in relation to the material and the quality( video and content) I would expect to purchase from Udemy -so slightly disappointed overall even though there were some excellent nuggets of information in the presentation.

The Enhance Your Speaking Voice course was well worth the time spent. I was hoping to be refreshed on some of the techniques I learned in acting class, many years ago. This course delivered that and much, much more. Not only was the instructor (Marina Deestan-Jones) delightful to watch and listen to, but her demonstrations of the exercises were easy to follow and imitate. It was such a fun course, and I have found myself paying more attention to my speaking voice and posture, when lecturing, because of this course. I know that I will continue to use the techniques I've learned in this course to keep my voice in good shape. Thank you!

This goes over EVERYTHING you need to get going on speech. It made me realize how difficult it is for my Nephew who's 18 months old learning to talk. How natural it is for us now to do something that was so difficult to begin with! It also is very helpful on how to strengthen my voice, and things for improving it and using it as a tool in future! If you're advanced you may get limited knowledge but if you need to get great at understanding how to enhance your voice this is great. Helps with all the fundamentals and that is the most important part. Thank you, you have helped me fix some bad habits and encourage some good ones!

The course has given me a lot of tips to enhance my speaking voice. I know that some of you might be thinking if it is ever possible to change or enhance your voice. Its pretty much possible with lot of practice. Only problem I could think of is the video quality. Though average studio lighting degraded the video quality, I'd still give it a 5 star for the content. Thanks Marina for the wonderful course. Hope to see more courses from you.

In my work I have to give sales presentations to potential clients in group settings, at trade shows with a lot of background noise, or in one on one situations. Although I normally do OK, I knew that I could do better and come across as more confident while sounding natural with a little guidance. This course gave me the tools that I need. Specifically, I learned exercises to help me expand my range, practice tone, breath correctly, and project my voice in those noisy environments without it sounding forced. The practice and the information that Marina armed me with has already improved my speaking voice. I definitely recommend this course to anyone looking to improve their speaking voice!
