You can spend tens of thousands of dollars on film school, you can work as a production assistant for a decade and hope to move up the ladder – or you can GET OUT THERE AND MAKE YOUR OWN MOVIE! FILM SCHOOL IN A BOX shows you – in every possible detail – how one team of Hollywood professionals made, and commercially released, a movie on a micro-budget of $100,000. YOU CAN TOO!
FILMMAKING IN A BOX has over 20+ Hours of real world lessons they DON'T teach you this in Film School! This course is unlike anything you’ve ever seen. Seriously.
If you’re a lover of movies who dreams of getting behind the camera, you know you own dozens of DVDs with behind-the-scens material that you’ve watched 100 times. Right?
But, seriously… When are you going to get the chance to be standing in a field surrounded by 10,000 extras all in custom-made armor filming with 20 cameras? Chances are your first film (or even your second or third) are going to be significantly smaller in scale than that…
FILMMAKING IN A BOX is the ultimate behind-the-scenes look at the making of a micro-budget(meaning REALISTIC BUDGET!) feature film. This is a look into how a professional near-no-budget film is made – with EVERY DETAIL available at your fingertips!
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"It shares the kind of lessons that can usually only be learned by doing. Not a lecture, not a seminar, just the honest, accurate, moment-to-moment account of everything it takes to put a film together."
Earl Newton, Executive Producer/Creator Stranger Things

How Can FILMMAKING IN A BOX Help You?
FIB examines the EVERY detail of the making of an independent movie called 2 Million Stupid Women (a comedy written by a woman!), which was made for only $100,000, made within the “Hollywood” system.
FILMMAKING IN A BOX has ton of INCREDIBLY detailed behind-the-scenes interviews and footage covering every stage of the prep, production and post-production . You’ll get interviews and conversations with all key members of the production team: the director, the producers, the writer, the cinematographers, the editor, the production sound mixer, the post production sound designer, the assistant director and more! These are not marketing fluff interviews – these are uncensored, honest and straight-to-the-point discussions about every pitfall, conflict and negotiation required to complete the project.
In addition – you also get hundreds of pages of the actual documents used to make the film: the full budget (yes! the REAL full budget, line by line see how the money was spent), the schedule, call sheets, every contract, director’s notes and MORE.
FILM SCHOOL IN A BOX will take you, step-by-step, through the exact process this team took to mount an independent feature film from the ground up. FILM FILM SCHOOL IN A BOX shines a light on every potential misstep and lucky break that can fall into a first-time (or second or third!) filmmaker’s lap.

"I wish something like this existed when I was starting out... No bulls**t; the next best thing to actually being there with the filmmakers while they were making it!"
Mark Bell, Owner/Publisher/Editor-in-Chief, FilmThreat

This course kicks ass! EVERYTHING you wanted to know about budget filmmaking is here. Plus you're on the journey with the filmmakers and actors and are really interested in what they're doing and how they're doing it. It's SO watchable. (The price is a steal. It should be $500.)

Really in depth on how to shoot a movie. Using an actual film being made helped give practical examples. Just a bit jarring at the beginning because it feels like part documentary as opposed to a 'class/course' so it took a few minutes to realize what exactly was going on.

A good lesson on casting process and about sag union and the struggles and the trust which is the keyword why I say this because I am a independent filmmaker and the struggle behind it and I invest money from my own monthly salary and make medium length films.I am also searching for a film producer to make a movie in a budget of 10 lakhs which I have been tired in getting a producer. If Udemy helps me to make a film with 10 lakhs in Indian money.I will be greatfull

The class is amazing! Its informative, learning everyone job description. What to expect with each job, problems that may come up during a production. and how to fix it to keep moving forward. Time management, working with actors, how to direct them what you want from the scene. Scouting location, lighting ,sound, what happens on production days. How to work and interact with other departments. From casting to a finish product. I'm so glad I took this class. The directors in all the departments we all amazing , learning to budget for all the departments and still get it done. Thank you so much, you guys are awesome! I suggest everyone to take this class, you will learn a lot, you'll thank me for it! -Renee Flores

The final product they made was not a very god film. The filmmakers are very sincere, yet I didn't find the material inspirational.
By Jak on 7/4/2018
The material is actually very good! What frustrated me was that whoever owns the material and making course just suddenly slashed what was originally available for the course. That's not fair! How can you just take a whole concise course from beginning to end (pre-production, on-set and post) and then just suddenly split it up ito three different courses and give the original buyers just one part of that! Completely unfair!

I am really enjoying the course so far. I like the documentary style and appreciate that a lot of material has been made available for download. It would have been great, if some more detail in certain areas could have been given (especially "boring" things like budgeting, contracts, etc. - pointers would have been awesome (what to look out for, things to include, ...))

I am a writer at heart, but have learned the better I understand the entire business the better my chances of survival. This series of courses is helping me appreciate what happens on a set, behind the scenes, and also how the business of it all unfolds. Definitely worth my time.
By Jake Senn on 2/11/2018
Massively comprehensive. This is as close as one could get to actually being apart of the production itself to learn about how movies are made. I recommend watching it at double speed, as it is incredibly long. Fantastic if you haven't been in a feature film production and want a feel for it.
By Pablo Bigio on 10/13/2017
Excellent introduction to the project. Excellent. two thumbs up! A complete education on what it takes to make a movie. The information was more than what I expected. The filmmakers didn't leave anything out. The BEST information I seen yet on the topic of making a film. Pablo
