Course Description
Struggled to recreate that trance lead sound? Not sure how to reproduce that classic trance bass? Look no further!
Welcome to this course on producing trance music with FL Studio. I show you exactly how I go from an empty project file to a fully-fledged trance track in just a few hours. Everything is shown, from how I arrange the track, to sample selection, synth selection, melody design, mixing and mastering!
I have broken down the steps of creating the track, section-by-section so that you can see exactly how I produced the track that you hear at the start of the course.
Whats covered:
Empty project file to fully mastered track in just 3 hours
Sound selection
Presets and recommended synths, third party plugins
Pattern and melody design
Sample selection
Compression, EQ, Delay, Reverb
and much more!
We start off by going over some of the basic components of what is in a trance track, before moving on to the drum intro. We cover how to design the trance drum loop, how to create a driving trance bassline, and how to create a convincing hi hat pattern.
We then look at how to create the buildup to the first breakdown, before going over how to create piano sounds, pads and white noise sweepers.
Then we look at how to create the buildup to the main drop.
We cover how to create a classic trance lead sound, and how to supplement this alongside the bassline, and how to come up with a great chord progression, with MIDI files included!
With over 2,800 students, and multiple 4 and 5 star reviews, we have been teaching for many years already on Udemy! With ten years of experience, we have been using FL Studio and know it inside-out!
What else is included in this course?
Free sample packs
The best third party plugins you should use
How to install and manage third party plugins
And much more!
If you just watch the videos then this course will take 3 hours to complete, but we recommend setting aside at least six hours to go over the videos and the other documentation that is included as well.

I've been producing music for 10+ years. I started off using Propellorhead's Reason, and then migrated over to FL Studio in order to start using external plugins and VSTs. I mainly produce Progressive and Electro House as well as Trance, and have recently taken an interest in Trap and Hardstyle.
I have been teaching electronic music for 6+ years, and I currently run 'The Basics of FL Studio' on Udemy.
I have a SoundCloud account that showcases the music I make professionally. You can also find my music on all popular streaming platforms, such as Spotify and Apple Music, under the artist name 'Octen'.

This is an excellent course. I started with absolutely no experience in FL Studio, and following Stephen step-by-step really helped me understand the basic features of the software and how everything fits together when creating a track. What I liked most was how the course walks you through the full process from start to finish. By following the core structure Stephen teaches, I was able to build my first complete track. I didn’t just copy what he did exactly, I changed some elements and sounds along the way to make it my own. For someone completely new to FL Studio, this course makes the learning curve much easier. I was genuinely surprised by the quality of the track I produced for my first full project.

This course has been very helpful, offering a wide range of techniques and fresh ideas for music production. While it is labeled as a beginner-level course, I feel it is more suitable for learners who already have some prior knowledge of music production and want to take their skills further. Some “basic” techniques are explained rather quickly. Without prior FL Studio experience, beginners may find themselves stuck at certain points. The lessons also demonstrate the use of third-party plugins. For those with experience, these can be replaced with FL Studio’s stock plugins, but beginners might find this aspect a bit challenging. For example, selecting hi bass, mid bass, and sub bass can be effectively substituted using Flex and Sytrus. Stephen also emphasized early on that you can apply your own creativity and don’t need to follow everything exactly as shown. I would personally like to see more content focused on sound design. For instance, when discussing how to make a kick sound thicker or adjustments in Macros and Envelopes, Stephen briefly mentioned the changes, but you need to pause the video to see exactly what was done. That said, I did learn what I was looking for from this course, and overall I am very satisfied. I would rate it 5 stars.

For anyone interested in this course, please note: It is not a course on how to use FL Studio, so previous knowledge is needed. It is not a course on music theory. Some basic knowledge would be beneficial. As for the content of the course, it was good. The instructor is easy to listen to and, although explains what he is doing, this is very sporadic. A lot of videos will start with the changes having been already made, followed by little explanation of why and how. There is still opportunity to learn from the instructor, but again, having basic knowledge of trance production may benefit you! If you are new to producing trance or any other for of EDM, it wouldn't hurt to take the course. Just be prepared to do some extra research to understand why the instructor is carrying out certain actions, or using certain plugins. On the plugins... they are a lot of paid VSTs being used. The instructor does mention this, but again, be prepared to either buy the VSTs, or use an free alternative. I have also questioned the technique used for creating headroom in the track (comment is on the specific video), so I won't get into it here. This, of course, is a personal opinion, and does not reflect on the instructor's knowledge. Overall... Good course!!

Learning new techniques, learning how to better produce Trance music, and overall, the learning experience is quite fun. Hopefully, this course will help me achieve the few things I'm wanting to do and that is to become an EDM artist, as well as producer, so I can collaborate with other artist as well.

The instructor understands very well how to produce trance music through FL Studio. I didn't give 5 stars because I would have liked it if Stephen had gone into more detail and used plugins already built into FL studio. I could still make do without the 3rd party plugins but it would have been easier to learn. Also, he should have gone into more detail during a few lessons, especially the second breakdown and drop section. Either way, this course is full of useful information loaded into bite-sized chunks that are easy to digest. Well worth the money. Great course. Thanks, Mr. Loader.

An excellent course, with so much information presented in such a short space of time; did not think it was possible before I started it. Highly recommend this course if you are looking to know how to produce EDM, especially if you are an FL studio user!

Just what I was looking for: a comprehensive guide, but in condensed form that explains everyting from many perspectives. I could follow the steps, but at the same time be creative everytime a melody was created. This way I created my first trance track I liked. Thank You so much :-) I would love to find something like this, but this time about EDM music.

As a fan of trance with no aspirations of being a producer, I enrolled in this course out of curiosity. It was such a fun course and the instructor really took his time in explaining the entire process of producing a trance track. I really enjoyed the section on music theory, so much so that I also enrolled in his Udemy short course on music theory (which I highly recommend as well). After completing this course, I have a greater appreciation on how much effort goes into making a trace track.

I really like this trance course! It is easy to follow and I learned so much already ... super thrilled to continue!

The Course Is okay. Unfortuneatly he doens't show to complete Mixing Process. I learned some new things, but using Presets shouldn't be a part of a How to make Trance Course. After all, the Course is okay. You can use some of the techs he showed, and some of them are quie nice. But in overall look to the course, it's to short. To many skips and premade Channels, Presets are used too often in my opinion. Using Presets all the time and just creating a melody doesn't make you a good Producer. I would have seen more use of Spire selfmade sounds, what you can do with this VST,... To bring this to an end. How I said, is okay. But there is much of headroom to improve. Cheers!
