Our take

Based on the ratings of 758 students, a sample of their written reviews and the syllabus, as the course stood in August 2026. No course pays to be reviewed.

Mark Shrike's course is a guided tour of the tools a manual QA tester runs into, spread over 187 lectures and about 38 hours. It covers ChatGPT, Chrome DevTools, BrowserStack, TestRail, screen reader and accessibility checks, Postman, JMeter, Wireshark, Android Studio and Xcode. Then it moves into Playwright with JavaScript and Selenium with Java, with ChatGPT and Cursor AI helping on the code. It is aimed at beginners and at working testers who want to fill gaps in their toolkit.

Reviewers like the clear structure and clear explanations, and one says the tools they learned were the ones their project needed. Individual reviewers praise the ChatGPT lessons and the how-to material. The complaints are specific. One reviewer found the content generic and not tailored to their industry, another called much of it obvious with too many irrelevant details. Two dislike the narration voice and accent, and one learner could only hear the video, not see it, and says the instructor never answered. Another wanted copy and paste resources for the commands, and one says the automation section could use an update.

The course was last refreshed in August 2026. It has 6,813 students enrolled and a 4.5 rating across 758 reviews, 453 of them five stars. Time is spread unevenly. Postman gets 47 lectures and Playwright with ChatGPT runs more than 11 hours, while Android Studio, Xcode, JMeter and Wireshark get 14 to 22 minutes each. Treat those as introductions. It is a good map for newer testers, but a dedicated course is the better pick for depth in any single tool.

Best forManual testers who want a tour of everyday QA tools and a first taste of automation with ChatGPT.
Skip it ifYou want real depth on one tool, or training tailored to a specific industry rather than general QA.

Pros

  • Covers a wide set of tools, from DevTools and TestRail to Postman, JMeter and Wireshark
  • Playwright and Selenium scripts built step by step with ChatGPT or Cursor AI help
  • Reviewers describe clear structure and plain explanations that suit beginners
  • Refreshed in August 2026, with sections on AI agents and vibe coding for testing

Cons

  • Android Studio, Xcode, JMeter and Wireshark get only 14 to 22 minutes each
  • Some reviewers find it generic, obvious in places, and padded with extra detail
  • The narration accent and voice put some people off, and one reviewer calls it AI generated
It is an excellent course, especially for beginners. It covers a great range of useful tools and provides practical tips that are invaluable for test engineers.
Yuliia QA, a student

Listed as beginner. Suits new and working manual testers, with no real prerequisites, though the automation sections mean following code.

It would be helpful to have resources linked for each section that include any other resources, extra notes, or data/information you could copy/paste while testing instead of having to type in the code/command. For example: const links = document.querySelectorAll('a'); console.log('URLs:'); links.forEach(link=> { console.log(link.href); });

I highly recommend this course to anyone looking to understand the mechanics and applications of generative AI. It not only provided the necessary technical foundation but also offered a crucial perspective on the ethical and strategic implications of this transformative technology.
