Course Description

Are you a developer looking to improve your workflow? Have you always wanted to learn source control? Are you looking to make your development workflow safer? Well, you have come to the right course.

Git is the industry-standard software for source control. With Git, you can save snapshots of your work as you go along in a timeline. Git allows you to create backups that take minimum space, making your work space safer. If you mess up, ruin your code, or damage your files, Git will be there to help.

In this course, we cover multiple aspects of Git & GitHub, including, but not limited to:

  • Git Theory & Workflow

  • Repositories & What they are

  • Basic Git Commands

  • Advanced Git Commands

  • A Complete coverage of GitHub & its features

  • Using Git & GitHub Together

  • Moving Git files to GitHub

And much, much more.....

We start from the complete beginning, talking about basic theory to familiarise new users with the environments we will be working in. Then, we introduce the Terminal, to make sure to alleviate any misconceptions about the Terminal, and to make sure you are comfortable with the environment before we move onto Git & GitHub. Remember, the main goal of the course is to teach Git & GitHub as smoothly as possible.

Then, we move on to Git & GitHub. We break it up into step-by-step pieces, so that everything makes sense, and you fully understand each part before moving onto the next skill.

This is the only free course that takes Git, GitHub, version control, and basic Terminal knowledge, and bundles it together in one course for users of all levels. Whether you are a novice with no knowledge of the terminal, Git, or source control, or you are an established developer looking to integrate Git & GitHub into your work, this course has everything for you.

So, whether you are trying to learn Git for your work, or looking to learn for fun, this course will turn you into a Git & GitHub Master.

This is a really excellent course, thank you very much for this! Sometimes the subtitles are weird (I am not native english) and confusing, but repeating the sections helps. Again, thank you for this, I really appreciate your work!

The course has been a good match to my needs so far. Since I am aiming to move from a 'just product designer' (software UX) to a 'product design engineer' role with impending use of Claude Code, my interest in Git and GitHub is in managing collaboration with a team of full stack developers while keeping focus on the 'presentation layer' components (React), working on a dedicated branch. That is my primary interest. I will need to apply the course knowledge to small side projects. One element that might help people of little to no dev background is to use actual code snippets (html/css/javascript) of limited scope inside the example files with which you train the cause and effect mechanics of Git commits to get a working feel for concepts like 'staging area' vs 'working directory' vs 'history'. Just a minor comment.

I never fully understood using git tools completely even after using for 4 years. After taking this course I totally understood all it's functions and terminology. With a little more practice I will be ready to master it. Thannks a lot

Very easy to follow along. I got to broaden my knowledge of Git. Next step is to try more git commands from the terminal and go beyond just pushing projects using GitHub desktop :)

The session provided a solid foundation on GIT and GitHub for beginners. SourceTree is a great tool covered in this session, especially for those of us who started with and are accustomed to Windows OS rather than Linux. While I appreciate the command prompt for its transparency and control—making you aware of your actions before hitting enter—it's easy to make mistakes with a wrong mouse click.

Among all the tutorials I've watched, this is by far the worst. It doesn't explain ANYTHING well. The tutor brings up a concept that you'd think is going to be the topic of discussion for the next few minutes, but then waves his hands at it or prompts the student to "mess around with it" until "you" get the hang of it. Don't waste your time here.

Got in-depth knowledge of Git and Git Hub, hence forth I will not fear to work with repositories, branches, GUI, and git commands. Jda explained nicely with real-life issues faced working with projects. Thanks a lot

This is a wonderful course so far because it cover many sections and it help students to get a clear understanding about what are the things they have to self study. It will be more helpful if you discuss more examples in the course.

Best beginner friendly course as the video suggests there a lot to learn its just a first step of learning but it has built me a solid foundation, I have been using git without the basic understanding for like a year not that its a bit clearer, my senior co workers just handed be a bunch of commands and I kept using them but now that i know how it works i can work peacefully, A big thank you to the creator.

I must say, guys, I tried to learn Git before and failed miserably. I tried many sources, books, websites and a lot of videos but none helped me at all, but this course is something else, it was much much better than anything that I ever came across. It's Interesting, helpful, informative and very easy to understand. It's awesome, trust me and if you are trying to learn Git try this course and thank me later. The only issue I came across is in Installing the Ubuntu terminal, but I was familiar with the Ubuntu so now I'm using Powershell with a little help from google and no problems so far.
