Really enjoyed this course, the structure was really well thought out so that each piece of knowledge builds on top of the next, and the content was well chosen - it covered everything I wanted to know about using the Github copilot chat tool, plus instructions, agents, skills, loops etc. It was a good length to realistically complete (when also working a job) and Tom is super clear in his explanations and has good knowledge. It's worth noting that the Copilot chat interface has been revamped a bit since this course but I was still able to easily find all the features that Tom mentioned or used.

Overall, the course content was informative and I learned a lot of new material. However, there are a few areas where the presentation could be improved to make the training more effective and engaging: Presentation style and pacing The lecturer frequently used filler phrases (for example, “reiterating” and “with that being said”), often repeating the same point multiple times within a lecture. This made some segments feel repetitive. Tightening the script and reducing repetition would shorten the videos and make them easier to follow. If learners need to revisit a point, they can always replay the relevant section. Efficiency of the videos Several lectures could be condensed without losing substance. Shorter, more focused videos would respect participants’ time and improve retention. Suggestions for improvement Edit the recordings to remove repetitive passages and streamline explanations. Consider adding timestamps or a short summary at the start of each video so viewers can quickly navigate to key sections. Offer a few concise, example-driven demonstrations of advanced Copilot features (e.g., choosing the right model, building custom agents, using Skills and Hooks) to complement the overview material. In summary, the course provides valuable content, but refining the delivery and reducing redundancy would significantly improve the learning experience.

Thank you Tom for creating such a thoughtful course that instructed me on how I can integrate AI into my daily tasks as a developer! I'm quite new to using GitHub Copilot and getting started was quite daunting. I didn't know anything about MCP Servers or Agent Skills, let alone how these things differ. After taking your course, I not only understand more clearly, the various features of GitHub Copilot, but you also helped me understand how to use these tools more efficiently with both security and cost in mind.

I already completed several courses related to genAI and this one is by far the best one. It focuses on practical approach and it is not written, read and presented by AI :D I actually learned some valuable things on how to interact with real tools. After previous courses I had very little expectations, but this one is the real deal and honestly if I had to choose - the only one needed to work effectively with github copilot.

Tom is an outstanding instructor who has a unique ability to explain even the most complex concepts in a simple and easy-to-understand way. Every lesson is well-structured, clear, and straight to the point, making it easy to follow without feeling overwhelmed. What I appreciate the most is how he breaks down difficult topics into smaller, logical steps so that anyone, regardless of their experience level, can understand and apply them with confidence. His teaching style is engaging, practical, and focused on helping students truly grasp the material rather than just memorize it. I would highly recommend this course to anyone looking for a clear, effective, and enjoyable learning experience.

This is an excellent course for anyone trying to understand Github copilot , or AI coding assistants in general. Covers everything you need to get started: MCPs, custom prompts, skills, and more. Highly recommended! One Area of improvement would be to suggest alternatives to SaaS products that require registration: e.g. Better Auth instead of Clerk, Local Postgres instead of Neon. Nonetheless, learners can so this themselves and still follow along this course.

Great content great explanations, i would have just appreciated if there would have been a short part explaining the github copilot extension recommended settings in case the user already has messed around with the extension so that they can also follow the course with the same results. Also i'm using probably newer versions and thing look a bit different for me but that din't stopped me from following the course.

I liked the course overall, but I felt that its structure made it somewhat confusing. The course starts by teaching a generic way of using GitHub Copilot, and later introduces the “proper” Copilot-oriented workflow. Because of that, the two approaches ended up getting mixed together, which made the learning experience less clear. Since this is a GitHub Copilot course, I think the main focus should be on the Copilot-specific way of doing things, without mixing in other approaches or workflows that can confuse the structure and concepts being taught. The generic approach could still be included later as bonus content or as an additional section for comparison.

The course provides a solid, comprehensive overview of custom instructions and agents. However, the balance could be improved by focusing more on GHC functionalities—specifically hooks and skills—rather than general tech stacks. Additionally, more depth in prompt engineering techniques and practical examples of agent orchestration would be beneficial. Overall, it’s a great topical foundation, but prioritizing platform-specific mechanics over infrastructure would provide more value for students looking to master AI integration.
