Course Description

This course is has been updated to Tailwind CSS v4.

Improve your skills and increase your value as a front end web developer by learning the ins and outs of Tailwind CSS!

Tailwind CSS is a utility-first CSS framework packed with classes like flex, pt-4, text-center and rotate-90 that can be composed to build any design, directly in your markup.

No more trying to think of appropriate class names, no more creating wrapper classes and inner classes, no more wasting resources with unecessarily large CSS files. Tailwind CSS makes building designs incredibly fast and easy, not to mention has built-in optimisation out of the box. Not using a particular class in your HTML files? Then Tailwind CSS won't include it in the final build of your CSS!

In this course we'll be creating a mobile-first landing page for a music festival website. We'll be covering layouts with flexbox and grid, Hero and Navbar components with menu and sub menu items, targeting different states like hover and focus states, targeting different screen sizes, and extending beyond Tailwind's built-in theme and classes.

After getting comfortable with Tailwind CSS's utility classes, we'll be creating our own base, utility, and component classes! This course is packed with an incredible amount of value in such a short amount of time!

Increase your value as a front end web developer today by learning a more advanced way of styling your websites using Tailwind CSS.

even the css class sorting is very good for development, but it switching too fast in the tutorial video......I cant catch it always rewind, and you dont use word wrap, the classes jump outside of the coding box area

My dynamic scripts did not work - the second sub-menu script refused to work, so I debugged using console.log, and despite it being an 'onload' function, it could not find the ID. I had to move the scripts to just before the /body end tag, and then it started working. [Jan 2026]

Good course. Fast and concise, gets straight to the point without wasting time on minutiae but a bit too fast. You're explaining while coding at a huge speed and that made me go back several times each video only to see what were you writting, plus I think you should explain a bit more utility classes, overriding classes and those advanced things, there was a lot of info in a short time and was a bit difficult to keep it up.

There are courses in Udemy teaching all of this stuff about Tailwind in above 20 hours. Appreciate you doing this in ~4 hours. This is also a well-taught course. Thank you for creating this course.

The instructor gets right down to business. In other words, he doesn't have any fluff in the videos. He doesn't stretch out a topic more than necessary. He doesn't teach CSS nor HTML in this course, so you'll need to come into the course with those skills already in your head. It's difficult for me to know if this was a thorough course or just hitting on a few key points. Until I work more with Tailwind, I won't be able to gauge how thorough this course was. I'm pleased with both the quality of instruction and the quality of the recordings. I plan to purchase more courses from Tom as I need them based on my good experience here.

You will be ready to use Tailwind in 4 hours! The course progresses easily from installation to basic use to some advances techniques. Everything is fully explained in code and applied in a live demo.

Great course and great demo project. Tom is very knowledgeable and does a great job of explaining the essential elements of Tailwind CSS. However, sometimes he goes through things very quickly, and you have to do some research on TW yourself to understand everything.

This is a great course for the busy professional that just needs to update to Tailwind CSS. The music festival project built in this course is just the right size and demonstrates all the essentials and makes its way to the more advanced and more common use cases. It's a great way to get some immediate practical working knowledge of Tailwind CSS with no overhead from specific frameworks.

Very good and professional. While I am learning React JS, I thought I would learn Tailwind CSS too. Here I am! Everything is working perfectly fine and smooth with React—even I have created the component and added the hover group class name as props. Anybody looking for Tailwind CSS with core, this course is for you.
