Course Description

Python is a versatile programming language. Many industries are now using Python for high-performance computing projects.

This course will teach you how to use Python on parallel architectures. You'll learn to use the power of NumPy, SciPy, and Cython to speed up computation. Then you will get to grips with optimizing critical parts of the kernel using various tools. You will also learn how to optimize your programmer using Numba. You'll learn how to perform large-scale computations using Dask and implement distributed applications in Python; finally, you'll construct robust and responsive apps using Reactive programming.

By the end, you will have gained a solid knowledge of the most common tools to get you started on HPC with Python.

I am a Python newbie so this beginner-level course i just what i needed. The instructor guides you through just enough hands-on examples to grasp the concept then moves on the the next topic. It even goes through some intermediate and advanced concepts like parallel and reactive programming which are essentials concepts in the real world.

The sections are good but the examples are very basic, I think it would be benificial if more real life examples and use cases are covered..this just scratches the surface

When I started this course I realized that what the owner and the author (they are different) were looking for was to finish it as soon as possible. The problem here is that it seems that a company is the owner of this course and it seems that they hire professionals to make these courses (if you go to see all the courses you will notice that they have 142 pages of courses with many courses per page) and in the comments of each course the comments are quite similar. Each course is made to be a course that does not go deep into the material and only gives small exercises that generally do not instruct in an adequate way. If the course had real life exercises it would be very good, but the only thing the instructor recommends is to read the documentation.

El curso tiene los contenidos basicos, para poder entender conceptos. Falta mejorar los subtitulos en ingles, ya que muchas veces las palabras son erroneas.

Great, complete and clear course, highly recommended for someone who wants to master HPC using exclusively Python ecosystem.

Overall a very good course with well-paced and valuable contents. The only reason it is not a 5 star course is because it is unfortunately too short, it would've been great to see more real-world applications. Since I work a lot with pandas, I would've liked to see examples using the library as well. Nonetheless, very good!

Very high-level overview about possible optimizations in Python. The course was useful, but had a lot of repetitive information, some lectures could be skipped completely (like how to run "pip install"), hands-on videos have a lot of compilation errors, especially fun to see how lecturer tries to write some code, it doesn't work, then he just removes the code and here is the final slide "what we have learned". I don't regret taking this course, it definitely worth $10, just don't expect much from it.

Amazing course, talking about important topics not covered by other courses, with good explanations, examples, etc... Thanks!

By Didier Barradas Bautista on 8/11/2019

This course provided me with a series of the new tools to develop my code to the next level, I think it can be improved adding exercises and their solution so I can write a program for standard problems. Also I would like to last another hour just for the exercises.

Covers most of the important parts of the subject which offers an amazing head start to explore it further.
