Course Description

**This is a simple course that gives you everything you need to know about how to find a book title that sells, even if you're a first-time author**

A step-by-step plan that saves you from the frustration of spending months on writing a book that no one wants to buy.

Simple Tips That You Can Implement Straightaway

  • How to find book topic ideas that people want to read

  • How to use Amazon's data (such as positive and negative reviews) to refine your book's topic

  • How to choose a title and subtitle combination that attracts attention

  • How to find topics to write a book about even if you have no idea where to start

Write a book that customers want BEFORE you spend time on writing it

Most authors go with their "gut feel" or intuition when they choose a book topic and title. They focus on picking a smart or catchy title that sounds attractive but ends up confusing their readers.

Moreover, most readers are bombarded with hundreds of book titles every day, so if your book topic is not crystal clear (to someone who glances at it in 2 seconds), then you might be losing sales.

Given that there are many free research tools available (including Google and Amazon), there is absolutely no reason why authors should waste their time and energy on a book that doesn't sell.

After taking this course, you'll learn how to craft the perfect book title that is descriptive AND persuasive before you start writing it. You'll end up with a book that grabs attention and turns more people into buyers.

Content and Overview

The course includes over 25 lectures and 1.5 hours of content. It is designed for anyone who is interested in writing a nonfiction book.

The focus of the course is on self-publishing Amazon Kindle books, but the ideas can be used for publishing on any platform.

The content includes four main steps, and each step includes simple tips that you can follow.

The course is delivered in a format that is easily digestible for busy professionals (each video lecture is around 2 to 7 minutes long).

Here's are the steps that are covered in the course:

  • STEP 1 Choose a General Topic

  • STEP 2 Narrow It Down

  • STEP 3 Choose a Title and Subtitle

  • STEP 4 Test and Iterate

Tips from a 7X Amazon Bestselling Author

My name is Hassan Osman and I understand how it feels to write a book that doesn't sell. When I wrote my first book back in 2006, I spent every weekend for a year at a local coffee shop typing away at my book. When it finally got published, I thought that all that hard work was going to pay off immediately after launch. Unfortunately, it flopped and barely anyone bought it. I learned the hard way that I should have focused on marketing before I wrote a single word.

Picking the right topic and title before I wrote the book was how I should have approached it.

Today, I'm the author of 14 books, including seven Amazon No.1 Bestsellers. I wrote all those books while working a full-time job at Cisco Systems (note: views are my own), so you can follow this simple process without spending a ton of time on it.

I'm also the podcast host of "Writer on the Side" where I help employees become nonfiction authors.

In this course, you'll get simple tips about picking the right title from someone who's done this multiple times.

An easy process to follow:

  1. Take the course

  2. Pick your book title

  3. Write your book

That's it!

There are no other requirements necessary to enroll in the course, and you can learn the material at your own pace.

"Short courses for busy managers"

My name is Hassan Osman and I help busy business leaders and managers work more effectively with their teams.

My focus is on three main 'future of work' areas: managing in virtual & hybrid environments, using AI to improve productivity, and enhancing communication among team members.

I write about those topics in my free weekly newsletters, "Leadership 80/20" and "AI for Leaders."

A little about me:

Most recently, I was SVP of Professional Services at NWN Carousel (a $1B organization focused on enabling hybrid work), leading a team of 200+ project managers and engineers on delivering cloud communication services to our customers.

Previously, I was a Director at Cisco Systems, where I led project and program management teams on delivering complex projects for Cisco's customers.

Prior to Cisco, I was a manager at Ernst & Young, where I analyzed failing projects at Fortune 500 companies, and recommended solutions to fix them.

I was also a research assistant at Harvard University, where I studied issues related to virtual teams.

This course uses a straight-forward, no fluff, all business approach. It was easy to digest the thorough information, and I gleaned new strategies and resources that can be applied in multiple areas. Thank you for being concise and transparent in how you develop book titles. Highly recommend!

Great course with very practical information that I will be able to use. Only real negative was the repetition of info already provided (tell the audience what you are going to say, followed by saying it, followed by a recap of what you just said methodology). Enjoyed the course overall.

would benefit to have more in depth insights

This is a great course ! It’s structured into step 1, step 2, … full of examples ! I could tell he took his time to put it together. Also, he clearly wrote books before to publish at Amazon. Sometimes, a content is not a new thought to you but within a structure it really helps. Thanks Hassan & keep up with new titles !

This book from very early on helped me realize why I haven't written a nonfiction book sooner! I have wanted to for years, but because I was never able to figure out how to narrow my focus I would get overwhelmed by textbooks worth of reference information. A great course, just have to put pen to paper and I will be published in no time now.

This course is about more than just finding a title. It starts with the topic... and how to pick the best one for your book. I truly enjoyed the course. It was well-structured, and I loved how the teacher, Hassan Osman, summarizes the main points at the end of each lesson and sometimes in the beginning of the new lesson. Everything is clear and explained well. One thing that could make the course a six-star (out of five) course was if we could get a copy of the slides in PDF format. For now, I used the Notes module on Udemy plus took a screenshot of the overview at the end of the course. Thank you for sharing your knowledge, Hassan.

Great course with step by step guides & relavent examples. It has given me a lot of clarity & validation on my way forward. I would have appreciated more indepth step by step in creating a catchy title. That's the part I got a little stuck at. Neverthless it's one of the best course you can take on selecting a book topic & deciding on the title.

Excellent course!!! I've written several books with underwhelming response. Now I know what I did wrong and what to do in the future. I now look forward to your how to write nonfiction book. Keep up the great work. I'd like to see a book on how to make an outstanding book cover, like you did for how to pick a title. Keep in touch if you want.

This course is a very well-done guide and step-by-step process for creating a book title. It is clear and practical and gives several outside-the-box tools and suggestions that are sure to help you come up with a much better title than you would think of on your own. This is a 5-star+ course than I would recommend to any author or author-to-be without reservation.

By Maxwell Ofoegbu on 1/8/2020

You can better appreciate this course if you had a book already written and published that didn't follow the recommended processes outlined in this course and suddenly discovered you'll be needing to invest big bucks in mastermind programs to fix your book. If only I'd have access to this piece of information it would have saved me a great deal.
