Course Description
Developing for the web can come with many challenges, but the handling basic, repetitive tasks should not be one of them. Using a build system such as Gulp can revolutionize the way you work by getting common code and testing tasks out of the way.
In this course, author Craig Buckler shows how to use this free software to automate tasks and build websites. This course is designed for users that already have some knowledge of HTML and CSS. You will start by learning how to install Gulp JS, then jump into learning how to create Gulp tasks. From there, Craig will teach you about HTML, CSS, and JavaScript processing. This video tutorial will also cover automated testing, how to find Gulp JS plugins, and other Gulp JS resources. Once you have completed this computer based training course, you will be fully capable of using Gulp JS to automate tasks and create your own websites from scratch.

The content could be updated for the newer version of Gulp. I struggled through the CSS processing specifically with image uri conversion. I could not get gulp-imacss to work at all, I gave up with it and found an alternative plugin as a work around.

After part one: Part one is introduction stady! I watch and i wait real knowleedge about gulp. But introduction i like. Latest exercice: Yes, very nice course. Without water. Only that i need. I satisfied.

The lecturer is very good and explains everything in a very comfortable way, but the examples are outdated and don't work if you just follow the instructions. Anyway, there are still some useful things, like plugins used in the course, for example, or a general understanding of how Gulp works. It would be great if you keep your course up to date with the last Gulp versions.

I think this was an excellent course on how to use GulpJS. The reason why I gave it only 3-stars is because it is outdated and the newer version of some of the dependencies used no longer work the same way as they were shown in the course. To get it to work would require some tinkering or ensuring you install the same version as was installed during the time this course was recorded.

good straight and to the point, all the plugins work with the exception of jshint which needed a little help from stack overflow but this was a fun and well made course. Thanks!

Schon ganz gut, aber leider sehr stark veraltet!! Inhalt und Aufbereitung ist super.

Craig delivers a very clear and concise explanation of Gulp. He demonstrates why and how it it used. The delivery of information is consistent throughout the courses, no waffling, just pure enjoyment. It comes along with project files so you can see exactly what happens to your files when you run the gulp task.

This course has enabled me to leverage Gulp in a way that is now crucial to my front-end process. This crash course is excellent in getting you started. If you have a good fundamental understanding of JavaScript, you will quickly find yourself expanding on the system the author sets you up with. Another nice practice presented by the author is that they break down the gulpfile in a clean and easy to follow manner by separating plugin options from the actual tasks. Integrating BrowserSync into the system was also a good lesson.

I really enjoyed this course. It was very well structured and taught. Craig is an excellent well spoken instructor that made Gulp easy to understand and follow. I'll using it in all my builds from now on. The only reason I haven't given it 5 stars is that Craig doesn't seem to respond to questions in the discussion.

Very informative for someone new to task runners in web development in general. The project makes great use of practical real-world examples to illustrate the effectiveness of the tool. I'm sold on adding Gulp to my development process! Note that you'll have to rewind frequently to keep up with sped-up typing in the video.
