Course Description
Welcome to this comprehensive introduction to Amazon Web Services, the world’s leading cloud computing platform. Whether you're entering the cloud field for the first time or strengthening existing skills, this course is designed to give you a practical and well-structured foundation.
Your instructor, Ernest, is a Data Insights & Analytics Cloud Engineer at Amazon Web Services, where he works directly with clients to design, optimize, and troubleshoot real-world cloud environments. With a background in applied statistics, data science, analytics, and cloud architecture, he brings a unique blend of hands-on expertise and theoretical depth to help you understand how cloud and data technologies intersect to drive business innovation.
This course begins by answering a key question: Why study AWS?
With AWS holding around 31% of the global cloud market, it powers everything from small startups to government agencies and Fortune 500 enterprises. Learning AWS not only enhances your technical capability—it significantly improves your career competitiveness.
You’ll start with cloud fundamentals, explore AWS infrastructure, and learn how to confidently navigate the AWS Console. Step by step, you’ll build core skills across compute, storage, networking, IAM, and databases—the foundational services behind nearly every AWS solution.
Through hands-on exercises and real-world examples, you will:
Set up your own AWS account
Implement IAM users, groups, roles, and permissions
Build and secure networks using VPCs, subnets, route tables, security groups, and ACLs
Work with S3, lifecycle policies, and other storage services
Launch and connect to EC2 instances
Work with relational (RDS, Aurora) and NoSQL (DynamoDB) databases
Build and test serverless functions using AWS Lambda
By the end of the course, you’ll have a practical understanding of the AWS ecosystem, hands-on experience with major services, and the confidence to design secure, scalable, cloud-native solutions.

Actually, an excellent course. From no-know to some-know (or even "I can explain the different key concepts") in an hour. Recommended.

Overall this was a good introduction to AWS. The only issue I had was that some of the content was repeated.

The course was informative and easily understood, especially with the hands on training.

I think I may have selected a course that is too simplistic. Positive points: good graphics and adorable avatar for Ernest. Could be better: sections are a bit chopped up, could be combined; Voice is so soft and gentle that I can't hear emphasis where it's being applied. That might just be my unfamiliarity with that accent / norms.

simplicity and cleanliness of the lessons. Good for starters.

Brief but very informative. Thank you.

Very Good and Amazing Introduction. If couple of more examples with different scenarios can be added that would be really Great...

Sections are way too short, between loading between sections and minor intro, feels like watching ads. Recommend combining sections so flow is easier to follow. Content was good!
