Presenter had excellent tone and pace; this course is great for anyone who knows nothing about the social media platforms.

I love it. I only hate the fact I'm so new at Twitter that I don't know where to look for the things he's explaining because my Twitter doesn't look like his. I don't know if I could customize it to have the same look or Twitter changed the way it looks since the video was recorded. So, when he is explaining "on the left you can see this and down there's that", it's not and I get frustrated searching for it.

This course was a good introduction to social media. After taking the class, I realize I must have more of an advanced knowledge of social media than I thought. The course walked you through the absolute basics of social media - setting up, first posts, privacy settings, etc. However, it was made in 2012 (at least I assume since the Facebook part had 2012 on the bottom) and when he started talking about Pinterest, he called it the newest platform, so it is pretty outdated. The course was good, just not for someone who has any previous knowledge of social media.

I am enjoying using this course. it's giving me some structure to a lot of things that I already know and I am using and I think it will help me further in designing my own social media course which I will conduct as a profession development resource person

Informative and well organised. Clear and well explained with examples. Since it's online, I can stop and re-play at my pace.

Very helpful and interesting, albeit a bit outdated. A more up to date technological version would be great

Muy interesante y formativo, explicado de una manera simple. Very interesting and instructive, explained in a simple and straight way. The facilitator dominates the subject, motivates the students and focuses on the most important aspects of the course.

This is a great course which explains how to create accounts on major social medias and how to use them in education. I highly recommend the course to every teacher who don't feel comfortable enough to include socials in his/her classroom!

Mr. Adams does a wonderful job at walking one through each social media platform. This course does cover the basics, some of which still applies, but note that it is rather out-dated and is the only reason for the 4-star rating. Overall, it is a well presented course.

By Michael Braehler on 11/2/2014

I enjoyed following this course. It gives a good introduction on how to use the selected (and most popular) Social Media. So for a newcomer they are really good. What I was missing are more concrete examples on how to use those tools in the context of education (as the title implies). As this introduction is on a very elementary level, the sections about Google+ and Pinterest should also be updated to reflect new features and user interface tweaks. All in all I recommend this tutorial for beginners, it's worth it.
