WebRTC basics are well covered throughout the course. The Section with UI, Privacy and Security considerations is a great addition, showing what needs to be implemented in order to make the application production-ready. Also references for further learning as well as use case scenarios were good. So, why only 4 star rating? It seems as if this course hasn't been updated during the recent years. WebRTC has changed a lot and much of the source code is deprecated. Also cross-browser issues and possible polyfills were not discussed (demonstrations were limited to google chrome only). The editor displaying source code somehow looks like a plain text editor without any modern syntax highlighting and code formatting as we know it from any IDE, which makes it a pain to follow along.

The course content is outdated with most of the code already deprecated (which makes progress very slow - searching for answers in StackOverflow). Instructor copy&paste most of the code and only provide brief explainations about it. That said, the course helped me to understand better the WebRTC technology and in absentia of alternative courses for this thecnology on Udemy this course is Ok

Great course, some people are commenting this course is depreciated, webRTC is an evolving technology and instructor has put a great effort in explaining webRTC, please use stackoverflow to correct errors which you see in console

PLEASE READ BEFORE BUYING THIS COURSE: CONS: 1 - The course has not been updated since 2015, it uses Node 0.XX.X and the latest version of Node as of June 2020 is V14.3.0 2 - Sames as above, even though the table of contents mentions SocketIo, the course uses Express.IO which is a project that is dead and has not been updated in 7 years. Look it up on npm. Be prepared to replace this with socket.io. 3 - The code examples provided and videos are outdated, the WebRTC Apis have changed and most of the examples and Browser api calls shown on the video are deprecated. Be prepared to spend hours debugging and updating old code. PROS: 1 - The course contents are good, the ideas and concepts are explained very well. The speaker is eloquent and articulate. If you want to sit back and watch just to learn about webrtc without coding, this is a great course. If you want to code along, you are in for a long journey. 2 - I noticed there are no announcements and the speaker is not responding to student questions which tell me this course has been abandoned. You can definitely find better courses and resources elsewhere.

not much clearly explained about stun or turn server , that how one can create their own, and preety fast forward just copy and past content from the other sites and just show hows things gonna work. if this is not what user expected from a paid course. there are tons of free tutorials out there which show the better way to explain webRTC then this course. totally disspointed.

This is definitely an intermediate course, requiring prior knowledge of languages and libraries like node.js or frequent pauses to brush up on one skill or another. The instructor moves through material very rapidly, copy and pasting code, then going over it swiftly. This means it's a lean course that doesn't waste your time. It also means that some details go unexplained or are only touched on momentarily. My biggest disappointment with this course is that it is no longer up to date. WebRTC has changed significantly within a few years, several core libraries and syntax components have changed. While this is good for learning how to debug code, it isn't great for learning up to date code and WebRTC architecture. I got through 90% before DOM exceptions in the telemedicine demo app stumped me for good Still, overall this is a solid course for understanding how webRTC works/worked and can be a good enough foundation for learning more modern coding.

Overall a great course. It's hard to find a lot of good documentation for WebRTC and this course has really helped me learn a lot of material in a very condensed timeframe. One thing that I would even love more is if the instructor typed-in some of the example snippets on the fly instead of copy/pasting them from notes and going over what they are doing. Nonetheless, I think I have learned a tremendous amount and really do appreciate the wealth of knowledge packed in this course!

Very interesting course, and good delivery, but may be quite difficult to follow if you have no basic understanding of Javascript

I am new to WebRTC. After taking the course, I can write my own applications confidently. I like Arin's approach of breaking down big topics into smaller chunks, it helps to easily grasp the concepts. I also love that he's taking time to point out possible applications and how the technology could be used in the real world. But I hope he would explain things a little bit slower and not monotonous, and the quite complex topics be broken down even further. Overall, it's good course!

Any new knowledge path must start with a simple, full-view aerial map, so one planning to explore the field can have the same perspective as his generals. Any dive into a new know-how should start with offering that sort of perspective, and indeed we see it here very well done.
