Course Description
ISO 45003 is the first international standard for managing psychosocial risks and protecting psychological health and safety at work. Published by ISO as a companion to ISO 45001, it gives any organization — in any sector, of any size — practical guidelines for identifying psychosocial hazards, assessing the risks they create, and taking action to protect the mental health and wellbeing of workers.
Workplace stress, burnout, bullying and poor work organization carry enormous costs — for the people affected and for the organizations that lose their talent, productivity and reputation. Regulators and employers increasingly treat psychological health and safety as part of occupational health and safety, not an optional extra. This course shows you how ISO 45003 turns that principle into a manageable system.
What the course covers
The course opens with the foundations: why workplace mental health matters, the purpose of an occupational health and safety (OH&S) management system, the structure of ISO 45003, the basic human needs an organization should consider, and the workplace factors that affect psychological health and safety.
It then follows the structure of ISO 45003:
Context of the organization — identifying stakeholders and the internal and external issues that affect OH&S performance
Leadership and worker participation — the role of top management in employee wellbeing and building a culture where mental health can be discussed
Hazard identification and psychosocial risk assessment — recognizing psychosocial hazards and assessing their risks
Support, operation and communication — the resources, competence and processes that make the system work
Rehabilitation and return to work — supporting workers coming back after absence
Incidents, nonconformities and continual improvement — managing what goes wrong and improving performance over time
Real examples of psychosocial hazards
Especially valuable for those implementing OH&S systems, the course provides multiple examples of psychosocial hazards, including poor leadership, toxic organizational culture, remote work and working in isolation, work overload and unrealistic deadlines, difficult interpersonal relationships, poor work/life balance, bullying and victimization, and inadequate or poorly maintained work equipment — along with the controls ISO 45003 suggests for each.
Throughout the course, the guidelines of ISO 45003 are explained in relation to the requirements of ISO 45001, so you get the whole picture even if you are new to occupational health and safety management systems.

O conteúdo proporciona uma visão geral da ISO 45003 e os desafios da implementação. Excelente a menção da norma canadense para consulta sobre alguns aspectos considerados. O instrutor possui conhecimento do assunto.

So far, I find this course highly informative. Nevertheless, as a beginner the content could be made more interesting. Importantly, the topic Psychological Safety is covered at surface level at least till now.

Eu possuo conhecimento da norma ISO 45001 e queria entender melhor como a ISO 45003 atuaria com suas modificações. Seu método de mesclar a explicação das duas normas foi excelente, pois trouxe cenários práticos e de simples entendimento. Bom trabalho e obrigado!

Thank you very much. Everything was fine. The topics were explained. But, I would like to see examples from Table 1, Table 2 and Table 3 in the ISO 45003 Standard. I would like to know how the risk assessments for these hazards are done.

Well explained, detailed in the right level and perfectly correlated with the ISO 45001 requirements. It's recommended to have a background on Occupational Health & Safety management system, but not mandatory once the instructor provides all necessary information to understand ISO 45003. Highly recommended!!

I find this training very interested, and well explained by the trainer. He explains those little details that perhaps can be missed while reading the standard and highlights those specific points applicable for ISO 45003. I liked how the explanation of the standard was aligned with the same requirements of te ISO45001.

It was an insightful course and I learned a few statistics about mental health in Canada and the ongoing evolution of integrating MHW with policy and better standards for the workforce. I think there is an opportunity to speak the global framework that is IS45003 and how to practically apply that in varying jurisdictions that may define some of these risks and parameters (e.g: mental health) differently.

I stumbled upon this course while I was doing the psychosocial internship, and it was so useful. It provides the groundwork for getting your company certified according to the ISO standards related to mental health. The instructor provided good examples so it was very easy to understand and very practical. I took around pages of notes for future use. Thank you very much for the course! it certainly helps with continuing education for many of us.

I'm new to HR courses and the regulation standards. The Standard Collage courses I was "sampling" typically where VERY DRY, Hard to follow and felt like I was reading the fine print on a toaster oven manual. However, I feel like this course is making a very dull topic very intriguing. It's very easy to understand with a whelp of insight providing me personally with the incentive to seek out ways to help implement new ways to enforce the mental wellbeing of my current team. I'm looking forward to continuing my learning and understanding of 45003. Thank you!!! I'm looking forward to completing this coarse and continuing to learn more.
