Course Description

This Java EE 7 training course from Infinite Skills teaches you the concepts, tools, and functions you will need to know in order to build websites using Oracle’s popular Java Enterprise Edition programming language.

You will start with an introduction to the Web and Java HTTPServlets, then move into learning more about HTTPServlets and parameters. You will learn about Java Server Pages (JSP), such as including directive and comments, page directive import and scripting, and declarations and page directive sessions. This video tutorial will also teach you about Java Standard Tag Library (JSTL), including how to download, install, import, and setup core tags, set and remove variables, among other JSTL functions. Brian will also teach you about custom tag libraries, filters and wrappers, and web security. Finally, you will learn how to build a themed website and web frameworks.

By the completion of this video based training course, you will have the knowledge and skills needed to create fully functional Java EE programs. Working files are included, allowing you to follow along with the author throughout the lessons.

Good teaching, good explanations, good exercises but I had issues running tomcat from eclipse and issues installing MySQL, which took time to investigate and figure out, since I didn't have nobody to ask.

By Chris Chain on 3/1/2018

I thought the course was lacking in hands-on examples. There were plenty of import, look and execute WAR files, but not enough "do this and figure this out" type of work. To summarize, the course was not "interactive" enough.

One word, Brilliant. The course was organized brilliantly taking the most appropriate, best and standard topics in, and covering them in an excellent manner. Teaching was outstanding, he made things quite easy with his explanations. yes, it might feel sometimes that things are going fast but that's because he is teaching on point, so I'd prefer pausing and going backward a little than having a longer video with a slower approach. It's incredible that such a big course is covered in almost 7 hrs and that's commendable and has made things quite easier for me. Thanks

This will basically take to through a build of an entire site with Java/JSP. Most all elements are covered. The course is quick though, so if you want to follow along, you will need to pause the course and code your pages and play when you're ready to move forward.

great job explaining topics and breaking things down. I also like the IDE tips and pointers to common gotchas. I think the course could be more robust. The title is Java EE 7, but the course mainly focuses on Servlet programming. I was hoping to learn other features of Java EE such as JPA, Dependency Injection etc...

I needed this explanations about creating and deploying a web application(hiding the paths, what to do with the war file). Until now I'm very content with this course. Thank you!

All the code works which is a really good thing. So I can review at my own pace and scour the web to get a deeper understanding of what's going on. I however believe I shouldn't have to. The material is really clear but the explanations lack real depth. He shows you things working but why they work is lost in the discussion. Further background information would be useful to solidify some of these concepts. A UML diagram of the program would also be useful as there are many moving parts.

I love this class. It shows all code, in sufficient details, to create excellent EE java web pages. I'm looking forward to using the web skills I've learned!!

By Max Deng on 9/13/2015

Along the course the instructor builds a big project bit by bit. Each time he adds some new features and elaborate it as a topic. Very easy to follow and learn. The whole course is very well thought out and highly structured. I recommend this course to anyone who is serious about learning basic Java ee.

This is actually a great course. I knew nothing about java EE and now I'm capable enough to build a complete website with strong backend functionality.
