Course Description
This course was created and designed to teach JavaScript fundamentals from the beginning, for beginners.
I will be walking you through the basic features of JavaScript and bring you to a point where you will be confident to call yourself a JavaScript developer.
Not just for QA Engineers!
I have designed this course with QA Engineers as the main audience. But all the lessons and lectures apply for anyone wanting to learn JavaScript.
QA Engineers
I am going to teach you and focus in on all the parts of JavaScript that are important for a QA to successfully transition into an SDET.
You will be ready to use test automation frameworks that use JavaScript like Protractor, WebDriverIO, or Nightwatch JS.
We will go over what a coding interview will look like and we will walk through some sample exercises.
You will end the course with a final project where you will create a utility app to provide data that you can use in your testing in the future.
What you will be learning:
The basics: variables, if statements, loops, arrays, functions, and objects
How to run your code in the browser console
How to work with JSON data
How to hook your code up to a web application
How to manipulate the DOM
How to enforce coding standards with Linting
How to test your code with unit testing
How I teach:
I don't believe in giving a lot of lectures where I just talk and you listen. So you are not going to have any lectures on the "history of JavaScript".
I want you to always be coding.
The lessons are quick and to the point. You will follow my lectures through examples and have opportunities to practice what I taught.

Very basic lessons but fast phased. This course needs a lot of update. I thought i'll learn something new but i just walked through it with some solutions much better than course is giving and i though i have less than basic knowledge of JS

Overall pretty good, a quick tour of JS to give you a flavour and starting to point to build on. Pros: - to the point gives just enough to get going with each topic Cons: - Can imagine some complete beginners may stryuggle a bit with minimal explanations at times - some topics could have done with a little more context about when to use each thing and pros and cons of different ways of doing things etc. especially around the later topics on objects, methods, constructors, prototypes. - slightly low budget feel to the videos, sometimes low audio levels and just the teach screensharing and talking rather than any slides etc. this was fine for me but others may expect something more slick

Generally the course is good and understandable, but sometimes happens a lack of information about some terms during the explanation, because you have to pay attention that it's beginner level and a new world for us.

I have attended a JS course once before, but this one is clearer. It got a good assignment that builds your understanding a little block by block. Maybe the QA part is a bit short, but you really get the JS fundamentals, and for a beginner of QA, I think the JS fundamental understanding took a big role at it. Anyway, thanks for the lecturer Jason Myers! I learned a lot.

Very helpful and easy to follow. Well structure and well pace lectures. You can quickly come up to speed or use as a refresher. All the homework assignments are well tested and updated so learning is smooth and you can follow along. This is a great course for QA engineers. It is well worth the investment. I learned a lot and Jason is a great teacher. I hope he continues to create more courses and to be able to learn from him.

The course is well put together. It was pretty easy following along. The exercises and final project are what really pushed me to utilize what I learned on actual projects. Highly recommend this course for anyone wanting to get into javascript.

The course is well designed for people who have some knowledge of other programming languages and who have worked on some automation testing tools prior. Considering that it is a free course, there is nothing to complain about.

Great course for first encounter with coding. I actually have an interview for qa eng tomorrow and no i feel way more comfortable with it. Some videos seem to be cut before it was supposed to ( i think 103 or 105 vid had the worst case of it) but since this is a free course i can only say one last thing - thank you Jason!

An excellent course for QAs who are interested in learning Javascript. The lecturer was very clear in explaining the JavaScript fundamentals which helped me get a better understanding to the language itself. The assignments were challenging in a good way and fun to do.

I like the fact that Jason goes through an example together, detects an error , thinks about it and then corrects it. I think along with him and try to correct it too. This has helped me to learn faster and remember easily. Thank you Jason!
