I have studied 12 languages formally (most of them ancient) and listened to 28 Pimsleur language courses. Dara's presentation is good and clear. However I think spaced repetition would go a long ways toward (1) being comfortable with the words and phrases and (2) retention. You can't just introduce words and phrases and move on to the next step and *poof* people will understand and remember. Spaced repetition is vital and essential.

The Learn Cambodian course has helped me gain a better understanding of basic Cambodian. My knowledge of vocabulary and pronunciation has improved, and I will move forward more confidently with ongoing study. Also, as I speak Thai, I am able to compare which words are similar in both Thai and Khmer languages (although the languages are of different families, their is some inevitable crossover), so I have gained a deeper understanding of Southeast Asian cultures. I recommend this course and teacher, and I'll be continuing on to Teacher Dara Hok's next courses.

Very well explained how to learn Khmer. I am Khmer heritage myself and it is great to have formal fundamentals. I can tell Dara has a professional background in teaching throughout this course. I am very satisfied I bought this class. I hope there will be another class for the intermediate level.

It was really well prepared and well taken through all the lessons. The lessons were short and the vocabulary was discussed at each stage -- making the recollection easier. One can even attempt to read word by word. Very useful.
