Learn Cambodian (Khmer) Alphabet (ក,ខ,គ ...) For Beginners (Udemy.com)

The course was useful and very detailed. It could have been improved by including the creators YouTube videos where he writes the Khmer letters and demonstrates the differences between handwritten and printed forms. I used that video on my own in conjunction with this course, which was very useful. Also, it would have been nice to include some reading practice where the English transliteration was hidden at first and revealed afterwards on the next slide or so. Overall, though, very helpful.

Really great course for learning to read Khmer. Clear and thorough explanations, now I have finally learned to crack the code of the amazing Cambodian alphabet! Thank you!

These lessons are straightforward, thorough, and very easy to digest. I am not overwhelmed by the information despite Khmer being a challenging language to learn.

I’ve been watching Dara videos a long time.. Would like to learn to read/write Cambodian… This should be a good start..

It’s not to bad learning it on an app. So far I’m just watching the video the first time around and I plan on going back and taking notes the second time around.

Clear explanation and well structured presentation but ER-OR explanation is different from other lecturers. It might not be important but it was a confusing part. Other than that, so good!

It's been a wonderful experience so far! I struggled learning my parents' mother tongue for all of my adolescent life - plus, it's been a difficulty finding resources to learn reading and writing from. I hope to learn more and hone my skills in Khmer scripture and language for myself.

This is a solid basic foundation. I would reccomend drilling this until there is a strong association. In addition, try to make up some stories for what they sound like (accents, situations, characters, sounds etc.) to create memory association. The onus is on you, this is not a creative teacher. But he is nice, his kid is a bit noisy, he likes to say ok and he has a good rhythm.

The Orchestration was done in a way I would not have expected, then again I didn't know what to expect! It was brilliant! The one thing that you won't find here is the facial Expressions, wich would require a video - (muscle memory / muscel recognition)!

I do know Thai and Laos. Cambodian is related to these languages but also different in its own ways. The tutor has been very expressive and simple to lay the language in so many facets. Overall, the approach has been systematic -- even for a new learner to approach ! The sample words, sentences are so useful for the learner.
