Go is an amazing choice for a language as it was developed by some of the same individuals who created the C programming language, Unix, and UTF-8 - some of the most influential contributions to computer science. Robert Griesemer, Rob Pike, and Ken Thompson created Go to be a modern language that easily uses multiple cores, easily implements concurrency, easily works in distributed environments, and easily allows the programmer to write programs - it has a very lean and user-friendly syntax. In Googles words, Go was born out of frustration with existing languages and environments for systems programming. Programming had become too difficult and the choice of languages was partly to blame. Programmers who could were choosing ease over safety and efficiency by moving to dynamically typed languages such as Python and JavaScript rather than C++ or, to a lesser extent, Java. It also aims to be modern, with support for networked and multicore computing. Finally, working with Go is intended to be fast: it should take at most a few seconds to build a large executable on a single computer. To meet these goals required addressing a number of linguistic issues: an expressive but lightweight type system; concurrency and garbage collection; rigid dependency specification; and so on. These cannot be addressed well by libraries or tools; a new language was called for. In my opinion, Go is the best programming language that you can be learning today. I began programming in 1982 with BASIC, I have worked with many languages, and Go is the best language which I have ever used. Go is also the top-paid programming language in America today.

In 1997, I was one of the first professors at the university to teach online. I did post-graduate work in online education at UC San Diego. I co-founded and taught in the Online Teachers Training Program which trained professors how to teach online. In 2008, I was selected as one of the best instructors in the entire California Community College system. So far, lots of good stuff. Looking forward to getting into the meet of Go programming.
I am looking to start an App that I think might be big. And I don't want to write it in Slow ass Java (Pardon my French).
I will be utilizing what I learn here to get it started.
I also have come to realize that Go programming might be good for game development as well.
I have game idea that I am looking to start as well.
Slowly obviously. But I am planning on putting this course to work, this and an AWS and VUE course that I am taking. So I am excited about the process. I am hoping to succeed. But I will be putting my skills to work everyday in my off time, when I am not at work. So wish me luck in all my endeavors!

THIS IS DUMB, most people use mac and you are skipping over the important parts, about to ask for a refund. You are assuming people don't already have a PATH variable set already and don't give alternative. I paid for this course so I didn't have to go do my own research which is what you are forcing me to do. Garbage

Something just about this guys attitude and voice, just makes me immerse into the course. Also, he seems to teach good overall practices in life, not just in the programming language he is teaching in. Really liking it so far. I also viewed a couple of previews, before the purchase.
